“Yay!! We saw them too!”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

I didn't really expect to see any pink dolphins but we were also lucky and spotted a couple. The boat ride itself was enjoyable but seeing them capped it off.
We caught a bus from Tung Chung after doing a return trip on the Cable Car. The ride was longer than expected which meant you saw a good amount of scenery (rather than sky scrapers). Tai O is a much more authentic fishing village than other towns described as such. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the markets, had an enjoyable seafood lunch, coffee and cake on a balcony over the river and finally freshly made doughnuts which were so light and gorgeous. We caught a bus back to Mui Wo and then the ferry back to Central. The bus terminals were well signed and the time of the next bus scheduled to leave displayed. I would suggest an early start to get all this in - we were at the Cable Car just prior to it opening at 10.00.
Did I mention the chocolate coated peanuts? They were delicious too.

“Yay!! We saw Pink Dolphins there”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

This place does not look attractive at first go but once you take a boat ride to visit this fishing village, you tend to enjoy it. Boat first takes you into the sea and if you are lucky you can see the Pink Dolphins playing in water, which is the biggest attraction here. We saw many dolphins jumping from the water from all direction and they were too quick that its really very difficult to capture their photograph. This part of the boat ride is really very interesting but sadly they take you to the Dolphins area only for few minutes only. The ride further takes towards the city where one can see the fishing village of Tai-O and their people. It is surprisingly to see such a simple place in shiny Hong Kong. Other than boat ride one can explore mote about the village by trekking inside the street and market of the village. They have various food options there (all non-veg). So much to see there further for vegetarians so return after boat ride is sufficient.

“Great little fishing village”
Reviewed January 18, 2013 via mobile

This place is like a little fishing village, you can see many houses build on sea, they park their fishing boat beside their house. I take a boat ride for 20 minute around the village, a good experience. Besides, there sell a lots of dried seafood.

“How completely unreal... Is this really HK?”
Reviewed January 16, 2013

Arriving on the bus I was a little disappointed, but then I walked into the old part of the village, and was amazed. This is a real fishing village, with stilt houses and Hong Kong people who still cook over a wood fire - every day. The contrast to the city is what surprises most. I found the people very friendly (if hard to understand) and enjoyed coffee by the creek and the fishing boat ride to try to spoot the pink dolphons (sadly also on holiday)
