“Great Rooms!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

The rooms are great! Spacious and the bathroom is the coolest with circular glass wall shower and free standing bathtub - something you hardly see these days. Only pity was that WiFi not available in the rooms - only in the lobby and strength is sporadic.

At 89 storeys, including hotel rooms all the way up to the 79th floor, L'Hotel is surely the tallest hotel anywhere. It seems to cater to mass tour and business groups which it easily accommodates. The hotel is comfortable and in a good location to nearby malls and the metro system. Our room had a modern design but surprisingly for a 5-star rating, it lacked an iron and some other basic items. I checked at reception. Meals were excellent, especially the range of choice for breakfast.

At the door, two classic Rolls-Royces for "decoration" and a parked modern Bentley proclaimed wealth.

We stayed in this hotel for 5N/6D during July 2013.

L'Hotel Nina is located at Tsuen Wan. The hotel was nice. The lobby was always crowded with tourists coming in groups. The check-in & check-out was quick. They have allocated our room in the 79th floor of their new tower. The room was neat & clean. Nice view through huge glass windows just in front of the bed. Their room service was little slow and at times they had problems in understanding english. Front Desk doesn't have any language problems.

Tsuen Wan West station is walkable. There is also a bus station adjoining the hotel. The hotel building accommodates a shopping mall which includes some restaurants.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new tower!

It may be called 5 star, but not in my view. The lobby is absolute chaos with no escape to quieter area. The rooms are tired, with old parquet flooring, although the hard bed and bathroom are OK. It's time for some upgrading, although the attached shops and restaurants are convenient and subway is close.

While this hotel might be considered a 5 star hotel, it does not feel like one. First, this hotel has cheapened itself by its agreements for so many tour groups to come here. There are frequently tour groups arriving by the busload and the lobby always stays busy even late at night. You don't really get to enjoy a quiet relaxed atmosphere in the lobby like other 5 star hotels.

Second, the service at this hotel is certainly not 5 star quality. The housekeeping is minimal. They will make your bed, restock your bathroom amenities, and take out the trash. But they didn't reorganize and tidy up my belongings for 4 out of the 5 nights. Only on the last night did the housekeeping did a thorough job that was expected of a 5 star hotel. They were slow to respond to requests such as when I needed ice, wine glasses or needed a bottle of wine opened. On top of that, the glasses they provided were dirty and I had to wash the glasses before use.

Third the concierge needs better training. They aren't very good at recommending shops and places to go. They will often just tell you a street or area to go to instead of a specific location.

Fourth, the room has a lack of power outlets and the available power outlets aren't compatible except 1. I had to request them to bring a power strip and at first they were reluctant, only bringing adapters. I had to insist again before they finally brought the power strip I requested.

Fifth, there are no public bathrooms in the lobby. One had to use the public bathroom in the mall that is connected to the hotel.

Sixth, management is cheap. There are times when I rode the elevator and the air conditioning was barely on. After inquiring at the concierge, they admitted the management intentionally cut back on the air conditioning. When I complained to the manager, he lied and said it was the fault of the elevator maintenance company and it could only be fixed in the morning. But when I came back later in the night, the elevator was cool again.

With all the negatives aside, this hotel is located in a very convenient location. There are shopping malls connected and adjacent to this hotel which makes dining and shopping very convenient and easy. The subway station is fairly close. The room itself was spacious especially in Hong Kong where space is a premium. The bed while not as soft as the beds in a Marriott or Hilton, are still pretty comfortable.

I stayed in Tower 1 and I was glad I picked a harbor view room not just for the great view, but because it allocated my room on the 39th floor. This was very important as the masses from the tour group almost all stayed on the lower floors and one can only imagine the noise they generated from their coming and going. So because I was on the 39th floor, it was very quiet.

This hotel is certainly very affordable considering the high cost of hotels in Hong Kong. So despite the negatives, I would consider coming back due to the sheer convenience and spaciousness of the room for the price although next time I would probably shell out a bit more money to stay in Tower 2 where it seems to have much less people staying there.

We didn't want to pay too much for a hotel and we knew that Hong kong is very pricey so settled on the L'Hotel Nina at the convention center. It is a ways to the center of Hong Kong but the tram is just walking distance aways. Their subway system is so clean and easy to use. Check in was easy and quick but the front desk people didn't even smile. The rooms are small and dark but the view is beautiful! The hotel is connected to a mall and restaurants which is great and yes starbucks was in the mall. woot hoot!

the hotel is huge and there is alot of mainland china people checking in and out. Their not the most friendliest people to deal with. The rooms were clean and comfortable but small which was expected. The only thing I didn't like was it was so gloomy. With our accommodations we got free breakfast buffet too which was told later that its two people per room and one day only. We had two room and traveling with 7 people we decided to try it anyways before heading out one day and lets say it was not very good. Not good selections at all. better to go into mall food court. If you are at the food court the KFC has these little egg tarts sooo delicious! Our kids would always go to KFC just for the egg tarts.

Overall the hotel is ok. Customer service counter aren't very helpful and they just cold. It was a good experience but next time we will try another hotel.

They upgrade our room to executive room at 86th floor.
The room has amazing huge window in front of the bed, seeing through the harbor.
This room also equipped with 2 queen size bed, working desk, modern style bathroom.
Easily find food as this hotel close to 2 shopping mall and street market.

Room Tip: ask for room at the new tower.
