I had an amazing experience here. This is one of the most famous and popular teahouses in all of Hong Kong, to expect that you can just walk in is just silly. Look at any eatery in HK during lunch time, please. The place was probably empty just before the rush and it comes on the dot at 12:00, by 12:02 the place is packed. Yes, you need a reservation. But my very first time there, I did not make one I was there at 10:45am, they said if I finished up by 11:45am, it's al good. The staff were very friendly.
The most recent time I was there, the food again was very food. Comes steaming hot and very quickly. The staff are polite and look after you so well, always making sure your teacup was full.
This is a true atmosphere of a Chinese tea house. Make a reservation and experience it.

My wife and I had read reviews of this restaurant prior to visiting Hong Kong and were very excited to visit. After making our way up the hill to the park on a very hot day where this restaurant is located we walked in and were "greeted" by one of the rudest individuals we have encountered in Hong Kong. While their website said nothing about reservations we were turned away despite the restaurant being only 1/3 full at best. When asked if we could wait for a table to become available (sort of a joke considering there were only a few diners in the establishment at the time) we were hastily shooed away again. The food may be good but there are too many other pleasant and inviting establishments to visit in Hong Kong without having to put up with this lack of service.

Lovely atmosphere - an oasis of calm in a very busy city. Lovely teas - especially the flower ones that open out. Check the price as one or two types are very expensive.

We were told that it can be very busy at lunch time but is peaceful after 2pm. We went twice. As the food is cooked by nuns in the morning some of the dishes may not be available in the evening. Everything is vegetarian.

Have just returned from an amazing trip to Hong Kong. One of our trips was to HK Park where we had an unforgettable experience in the Lock Cha tea shop. We had invaluable help from the Chinese 'waitresses' on which teas to sample & were given a demonsration on how to infuse the teas & how they should be served . You can also buy tea from an incredible selection ( at varying prices) also teapots, cups, trays etc so that when you get home you can still experience the wonderful ceremonial tradition of 'taking tea'.
