You have to walk through here to get to and from the cable car, but it is just a bunch of tourist shops with little to recommend them. Just walk past.

Thats the way to visit the Big Buddha, and its a nice one. But only if you like cable cars ;) in the evening you have a really nice view at the lighted airport.
If you spend a little more, you can take a car with a window on the floor, so you can see through.

Get the glass bottom car for extra $$$$ Its worth it. Sleepy village awaits you with a few good cafes and lots of touristy junk. Oh, and there's some big bhudda just up the road, so up his steps and check it.
Hike back down under the cable car trees. Fun.

It was worth the two hour queue to get on the cable car for this experience. The recommendation is to take the glass bottom return ticket - it is a great experience as you go up to the top of mountain, but also when you return in the evening there is no queue as most people would have taken the other ticket or just a one way glass bottomed cabin - their queue was never ending. The experience of the largest sitting Buddha in the world and the monastery was a great experience and worth the day we we spent there.

Mall, restaurants, more shopping, wax museum. But no "village". Maybe a shopping village? Views were great of the city skyline though!
