Stayed here for 4 nights. Rooms were clean and comfortable, fairly small but this is Hong Kong. We had harbour view rooms which were better than I anticipated, obviously the higher you are, the better they are. Easy walk to restaurants and many sights, near the midlevels escalator and not bad for the subway. The small restaurant is a nice place to sit, although service was slow if you wanted food.

Room Tip: Higher the better

We've stayed at this hotel twice now, not through any particular loyalty (it's not the sort of hotel to inspire it) but because each time it turned out to offer the best compromise of location and facilities versus cost. On the plus side, the location is excellent, right in the heart of vibrant Hong Kong island, the hotel is nicely designed, service is coolly efficient, and the views from upper floors are exciting! On the minus side, the standard rooms are quite cramped, the breakfast is definitely missable, and (a personal bugbear) wifi is charged at a punitive 60HKD per hour or 120HKD per day. Be aware too that you need to be prepared to walk quite a bit (typically 15 - 20 mms, including steeply uphill!) between the hotel and such destinations as Star Ferry or City Hall (where many day tours begin).

Room Tip: Higher rooms have terrific views. Go for superior rather than standard if you can - the extra space...

This hotel was small by Hong Kong standards and tucked away on a side street, but the position was brilliant! It was near the MTR and the escalators, an easy walk to Central and the star ferry and in a really atmospheric part of town, with alleyways and market streets all around!
The hotel rooms were small, as others have said, but the price was lower than many hotels in HK, where space is at a premium. The bed was comfortable, the decor was Chinese and the small bathroom worked well with plenty of hot water and everything working.
My main concern was the service, which was offhand at best. The reception staff did not smile or seem helpful. They denied we were staying there every time our friends phoned to leave us a message, despite our complaints, so were also very inefficient. The breakfast staff were also only adequate, no one seemed to go that extra mile. We have been to HK many times and usually hotel staff are outstandingly helpful and efficient, in other hotels, so that was a bit surprising.
The website mentions a lobby lounge with free WiFi and an open air bar. Both these were closed "for renovation" although we saw no work going on. This meant there was no breakfast area, lounge or bar, in which to meet friends or sit. Breakfast was served (temporarily) in the evening restaurant, with guests crammed onto large round tables, sharing with others, and taking food from a buffet set up in the corridor, in a cramped and very cold room! The open air fourth floor terrace did have seats and intermittent WiFi but no drinks or food was served there.
This lack of bar or lounge area meant the hotel was really like a B&B, not a full hotel, but after we complained, the manager did at least give us free breakfast; just as well as it was incredibly overpriced for what you got!
I would stay there again for the position and price, but I hope the management and staff improve and the "renovations" are finished, if I ever go back.

This was our first stop on our "holiday of a lifetime" booked through Audley Travel. We were booked for two nights en route to New Zealand and were told that we'd be picked up for private transfer to the hotel. On arrival, there was no one there to meet us so after about 30 minutes waiting, we explored the option of taxi, bus etc to the hotel, as there was no local contact number for Audley in the paperwork. We then find from the airport info desk that the Lan Kwai Fong operate a transfer service from the other arrival gate... go to other arrival gate and get limo to hotel...

First impressions on first time to Hong Kong: busy, busy, busy. The hotel is in a bar and club area in the city, with very small rooms. We had upgraded to a harbour view room and whilst you could just about see the harbour, walking round the bed and finding a home for the two suitcases proved more difficult. Don't be fooled by the photos on the hotel website... most rooms are tiny. Breakfast was interesting... this is a 33 floor hotel (albeit with only about five rooms per floor), but the breakfast room had just 5 (five) tables, but as we were late down due to the previous night flight we didn't have to wait, just share a table with another couple. Very cosy - but time it wrong and it could be a disaster.

Also the hotel advertises a roof-top bar/cafe - there isn't one! and the gym (a couple of running machines and a stepper) was locked... The small rooms have a small en-suite with shower only.

Good points: the hotel's location isn't bad... close(ish) to MTR system, shopping areas, bars and restaurants, and the bed (standard double) was comfortable and had quality linens

Room Tip: Get a room as high up the floors as possible.... take small suitcases and a first aid kit

Room was small, but very clean and quiet. The shower was the best outside of U.S. I have experienced. The best location for the least money as this hotel is close to SOHO, the escalator, two blocks from the tram and bus stops. Cab fare from air express station was $36 HK or $5.50 us. I spent 6 nights and do not have one complaint knowing before hand that the rooms were small. I have stayed in much smaller closets in London's Hiltons for twice the price.

Yes the rooms are small, but your in Hongkong.. everything is small. Soo.. I found the staff helpful and polite, the location awesome. 3 min walk to Sheung Wan station (central interchange is the next stop) "the escalators" are a few minutes walk away, and all the great food and bars that the Lan Kwai Fong district is known for, is on your doorstep.
The room was yes, small, but clean with a cool 'asia theme' and a funky bathroom. I didnt eat in the hotel (hellooo.. your in LKF!) nor did I visit anything else in the hotel. I was there for a trade fair so I was gone by 9am and only came back to change or sleep. That being said when I couldnt sleep they did have a good english language movie channel.
I had breakfast at either starbucks, pacific coffee or a little french based cafe at/above the sheung wan station - why? I thought they charged too much for b.fast plus it was just convenient for me. Would I stay here again? definately!

Room Tip: Higher up with a harbour view. I was in room #2004 (on the 20th floor) and it was cool to sit in th...

The normal rooms are really way too small. The hotel is nicely decorated and the service is not bad. It's not the Four Seasons (dah-ling) but it's not terrible either --- see my review of Ovolo.

But if you're staying longer than a couple of days, it gets quite claustrophobic in those normal rooms. But the Harbour Suite is a bit expensive for it's size.

It is a bit like a junior suite, but with a door separating the bedroom + ensuite bathroom, with the living area and little balcony. They're thoughtful with the amenities - a fruit tray and a complimentary bottle of wine.

The Chinese theme of decoration is also nicely done but it really all comes back to size. Personally, I would struggle with staying in the normal rooms. And it would be nice if they threw in complimentary wifi for suite guests. HKD500 (USD64) for only 1 device, is kinda petty to be making your suite guests pay for wifi.

But overall, it's not a bad hotel. The Chinese restaurant Celebrity Cuisine has very good food - just make a reservation early. It gets full fast.

Room Tip: Get the Harbour Suite if you can.
