We expected this "express-style" hotel to be very basic, but were pleasantly surprised at the decent-sized room and ensuite, especially for space-conscious Hong Kong. Across the road was Times Square with its many up-market, high-end retail shops but also a delightful supermarket in the basement which carries a huge range of food items from around the world. When we yearned for a fresh salad or a simple meal of cheese and bread after all that wonderful HK cuisine, that's where we headed for to get our "green fix". It was also an easy 10-15 minute walk to Happy Valley and public transport was a step away, eg. MTR, buses, trams. The only minor downside was the poor-quality complimentary breakfast - that's where the super supermarket came in handy.

An above average HIExpress located smack dab in the middle of the Causeway Bay, it's a perfect spot for shopaholics who want to hit the stores, head back to the hotel to drop off shopping bags and head out for another round. The hotel packs a lot in a small footprint. The rooms are smallish but not tiny by Hong Kong standards, although the bathrooms are cruise-ship sized. There is also a Japanese restaurant and a VERY popular Cantonese place on the ground floor (forget about getting a table at peak times). I enjoyed the breakfast where you are given a choice of 4 different set meals for different tastes. Very clever idea, I wonder why more hotels don't have this option. Only criticism: the front desk is manned by the most inept group I have found in some time. Young men with bad hair cuts and vacant eyes, you half expect them to ask "do you want fries with that?" They're harmless and seem eager to please, but mostly provide comedy relief when trying to complete the most basic tasks. Still, I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Make requests in very slow, easy to understand, short sentences

Well, for the price, there's really nothing to complain about although the room is really simple and almost everything at average. The location is superb, just a minute's walk to the shopping center Times Square and also the subway. There's also a wet market nearby where you can see all kinds of foodstuff. The dessert shop at the first floor is also awesome, with long queue every day after 6pm (make sure you go grab yours before 6pm if you hate the long queue).

The stay also comes with free breakfast and free wireless. The breakfast is a fixed set menu and you only have 5 kinds to choose from. Not really good but not so bad too. But hey, if you don't like it, just walk outside and go to any nearby noodle shop etc.

The service is above average. The room could be a bit stuffy if you are used to staying at those 5-star hotels :)

Room Tip: Well if you are there for honeymoon or relaxation, this is not the hotel for you. However if you are there for a couple of days for business trips, seeing friends, shopping etc, then it's a perfect match.

I stayed in this hotel for 9 days during the Christmas/New Year holidays, and the Causeway Bay location is amazing. Right next to Times Square, where there is an MRT station, surrounded by food and shopping. There's also an amazing little dessert place just on the ground floor of the hotel building - there's always a super long line of people waiting for seats every time I walk past it, even at midnight!

The rooms were simple but clean, though a little on the expensive side for something that is not so fancy (it was the peak holiday season when I stayed). Anyhow, the convenience of the location makes it all worth it.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on higher floors so you won't hear the traffic in the morning or the crowd at night. Corner rooms also have bigger bathrooms.

The hotel is located just behind Times Square with easy access to MTR. Breakfast is included which is a set menu of 5 different types of food. Every week the contents of the menu are changed.Good room service with friendly staff always willing to help out. There are also restaurants to eat but the best is the desert served on the groung floor. They offer a 10% discount if you are staying in the hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms are good and they have also familY rooms
