“Nice”
Reviewed November 9, 2012 via mobile

Worth a visit. Follow directions to a public administration building and turn left BEFORE the building. If you meet some begging monks at the gate don't give them money or buy anything. They are not monks but hustlers or regular beggars.

“Nice surprise!”
Reviewed November 8, 2012 via mobile

I went there without really knowing what to expect but it turned out to be a lovely surprise. It s very peaceful and quiet and it s nice to get away from the crowd of HKG for an afternoon.

When you reach the station take exit B and go left at the exit. Walk down the pedestrian alley and turn left toward the government building. When you reach that building take a right : the entrance is right there and it s free of charge

“Worth the effort”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

Take your time to climb up the many many stairs, guided by the live size statues of hundreds of Budha's. At the top enjoy the view and stroll around the different complexes displaying thousands of Budha statue, in every size. Descend the other way and pass through the old village and some more shrines that the monks visit on their way up or down. These are still very much in use, so be respectful. Better not do this on a very hot day, when you are not in great shape, it's a serious climb.

“Ten thousand statues lined up”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

The climb upto the monastery is lined up by lovely statues ten thousands of them. Usually very few tourists go to this place. The Monastery at the top is a serene place and the carvings and paintings are beautiful.
