I came here by bus initially to see Stanley Market but on the way back, I made the very wise decision to get off and have a look around here and am so glad that I did. I walked to the very nice beach and could not help but notice lots of people dressed not as a typical holidaymaker in shorts as I was but in long trousers, jackets and looking somewhat lost. There were two American girls in bikinis on the beach and they were overwhelmed by men all waiting there turn to have their photo taken with them.

It dawned on me what this was about and at was confirmed by their tour leader. They were in fact tourists from mainland China, somehere near Bejing and they acted as if they had never seen the sea before let alone a girl wearing a bikini! I took a very pleasant walk along the seafront, stopping to eat and drink and apart from the tourists, the place did have the aura of being somewhat upmarket.

We stopped off on the bus on the way back from Stanley and had a lovely walk on the beach. The views are spectacular and as the buses are every 30 minutes or more you aren't stranded for long if you don't want to be.

Well, Repulse Bay, strange as it might sound is not repulsive! It has always been a suburb where the rich live. If you take a double decker bus from Central, you can check out the buildings and high rises and see the difference between the old world money and new one. The old money would be reflected in the bungalow style single house, whereas the new would be the new high rises. The beach itself is clean and is a popular place for locals to go during summer months.
