“Mini Retro Hong Kong”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

Been there since I was a baby, visiting grandparents, hopping in/out of the MTR (underground/metro), checking out the wetmarkets, the computer & electronics shops, factory outlets (really FACTORY, not brand), witnessing the population getting older & older each decade, and seeing how some parts of SSP have been face-lifted by the Govt.

You can find plenty of good yummy cheap local food in SSP, and also plenty of bargain items from computer & electronics to home electrical appliances, stationary or bakery shops.

“A fascinating place for local food, computers and fashion”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

It carries all sort of local specialty like food which unlikely to find in other HK areas. Lovely wholesale stores for low-priced fashion and accessories. Computer centers have all sort of models and accessories for different customers.

“Fabric, button and bows and a Michellin Starred Restuarant”
Reviewed September 30, 2012

We went to Nan Lian Garden and the Nunnery and on our way back decided to change lines on the MTR and travelled one stop to Sham Shui Po. Which is famous for its markets and its fabric and haberdashery wholesalers. Being a keen dress maker I was like a little kid in a sweet shop and came back laden down with chinese brocade and satin and could have spent a fortune if luggage weight hadn't been an issue. Whilst were in the area we decided to have lunch at this branch of Tim Ho Wan which is at 9-11 Fuk Wing Street. There was no queue although it was in the middle of lunch time and were were given a menu in english which you tick to show what you want to order. The food came quickly and was delicious and we ate a large lunch for about £5 each. Should you decide to go don't be put off by the area, it is not posh, in fact you walk past lots of small industrial units and little local shops and then you come across it, the name is written in chinese, but there are a number of Michellin stickers in the window which is what gave us a clue that we were in the right place.
Following this were walked around the area and made several purchases in from the market stalls, this is cheap area, more for locals than tourists so well worth a visit.

“Shop like a local”
Reviewed September 19, 2012

Nice place to visit. Recommendable by the locals themselves. Something for those who loves electronics items at fook wing street, ladies can shop other stuff around there. There are plenty of places to eat and very close to the sham Sui PO MTR. Loved it. Nice to shop there.. And prices are reasonable too.
