From the hotel, Tsuen Wan was a very short bus journey. At first l found it to be the perfect gateway to the whole of Hong Kong, but after exploring the back streets towards Tsuen Wan West, l found some amazingly cheap resturants and eating houses, each with their own unique taste and style. A must for any hungry tourist and local alike!

Tsuen Wan is apparently not a tourist area but with convenient traffic. There are two MTR stations, Tsuen Wan Station (Tsuen Wan Line) and Tsuen Wan West Station (West Rail Line). It takes you 12 min to TST East and 15 min to Hung Hom by MTR. Going to the airport by taxi only costs you HKD200.

Likewise, there are several shopping malls, D.Park, Citywalk, Tsuen Wan Plaza, etc. But there is no swank shop ad Tsuen Wan is not a tourist spot.

L’Hotel Nina, Panda Hotel and Silka Far East Hotel offer affordable rates as compared to other hotels of the same grade in busy districts.

All in all, staying in Tsuen Wan can be another option that you may consider.

I can find small restaurants and shops where I can taste or buy something traditional in Public Square Street. However, I can also stroll and windown shop in modern malls in the reclaimed land near Tsuen Wan West MTR station.

Tsuen Wan is the first station of the Tsuen Wan Line of the MTR. The are only a few hotels and the shopping malls there are quite big. Other than that, there is nothing special for a tourist to visit, so this is definitely not a tourist attraction. This place is only for people to live, but it still shows you the different side of Hong Kong. The hotels in Tsuen Wan is not as good as the huge hotels in Tsim Sha Tsui and Central. So if your holiday in Hong Kong is short and you wanna look at the best places in HK, this is not a good place to visit, but the food and the view is still ok.

Definitely not a tourist attraction, but shows you a different side of Hong Kong. Very quiet area and you can really catch a glimpse of life in HK. I've stayed in a lot of different areas in HK (i.e. Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok, Causeway, Central), and I always come back to Tsuen Wan when I want to recharge.
