This is a must on a visit to Hong Kong. Take the Star ferry and see the skyline. Great mix of the old and new.

We were staying in Kowloon traveled on the star ferry like a bus. We also did the harbor tour which was very interesting because the commentary told us all about the buildings on the water front. A 'must' experience for a visit to Hong Kong.

Visiting this via walking through Avenue of the Stars (this method of visit is free, for sure), this area is a must visit in HK since it delivers beautiful city lights combined with urban seaside view and several boats pass by so often. For your consideration, you should pick the day with good or clear weather and wait until sunset, so you could enjoy the city lights with optimal pleasure. Unfortunately I visited this place when the fog is very bad so I couldn't take any good pictures of those lights.

As part of its world tour, the Big Yellow Duck has recently invaded Victoria Harbour and can be seen between the Star Ferry Pier in Tsim Sha Tsui and the entrance to the Harbour City / Ocean Terminus building nearby.

The duck is big, its yellow and its certainly drawing massive crowds, pretty much like anything that happens in this area of TST. We recently visited first thing in the morning, around 7.45am and found the crowds tolerable. It was easy to take unobscured photos of the duck at that time of day.

The Big Yellow duck will remain at this location until 9 June 2013 for those interested in seeing this temporary attraction before he swims away from Hong Kong for good!
