“Amazing range of fabric”
Reviewed February 3, 2013

Other reviewers are marking this place down "unless you want fabric".... and my wife wants fabric, Lots of small separate shops on the first floor with a huge range of fabrics (for clothes not curtains). The shops are not all the same and the shop-owners are knowlegeable and helpful. Prices are not rock bottom and of course you can bargain (before they cut it!) but you can end up with some really good quality stuff at very good prices.
Simon Lau - Fashion Fabrics Co was especially good.
If there wasn't a wieght limit on baggage we (she) would have bought a great deal more!
No doubt I will be taken back there..

“Give it a miss”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

There is nothing there. The building is very lovely but all that is inside is a hobby shop on the ground floor and a gift shop, next floor is all fabric stalls and the next floor is a food outlet which was closed the day we went due to a function

“Impressive Architecture, Kitschy and Underused Interior”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

If you're planning a walking tour of Hollywood Rd, follow the Lonely Planet suggestion and start your tour here. It's an interesting building to quickly tour, but not a place to spend any amount of time. Markets are nearby and a cafe on the first floor makes a good place to start a tour with some coffee. Look for the old iconic red phonebooth and the vaulted ceilings. Take a quick peek at the second floor fabric shops, the clutter is impressive.

“Interesting but on the outside”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

Worth seeing the building from the outside, but inside there is nothing interesting unless you are looking for fabric. Nice place to visit for example on you way to Man Mo Temple.

“Agree with everybody else here.”
Reviewed October 20, 2012

REALLY neat building and easy to reach by tram, but once you get there, you wonder why you bothered. A small restaurant on the first floor (Das Gut) served an adequate tea sandwich and coffee - but charged my husband as much for his coffee as for my entire tea set. Bathrooms are clean but on the fourth floor, no lift. In between is a huge, creepy invitation only banquet room and ordinary cloth ships selling fabric. Weird combinations.
