“Nice Diversion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

The Zoological and Botanical Gardens proved to be a nice little surprise where we spent a good hour or so. It's small as a Zoo, but certainly can't beat the free price in the city. The monkeys are well worth a few minutes to see flying around their enclosures as well as the other animals located nearby.

“Few animals living in bad condition”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2013

I went to the zoo at the end of 2012. The zoo is quite small and the variety of animals they have is very limited. The enclosure is very small and it's really like watching the animals out of the film "madagascar". But again, given that this zoo is located on the hills, I think that it is a pretty good use of space. When i went, most of the animals were not in their cages, presumably because the weather was too cold and not suitable for them to be in the open. Given that the place is free of charge, I guess it's worth a visit if you happen to be at the SoHo area.

“A refreshing little walk”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2013 via mobile

It's nothing major and don't go way out of your way, but if you're in then area stop by. Its a small park/zoo with an impressive amount of exotic birds and monkeys. A nice relaxing walk with a big fountain in the middle for an afternoon chillaxing session.

“Gorgeous little FREE park”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2013

No-one can complain about this park - it's free and you can see baby orang-utans there! And yes they are well looked after. It's a very pretty, quiet little park, very well-kept considering there's no gate fee, where you can sit and have a hot chocolate and watch the birds and the fountains and, yes, monkeys in cages. But frankly the cages here are nicer than the ones in Beijing zoo! The primates were all active and looked to be in good health, and there were plenty of keepers around feeding and cleaning. Have a wander through, look at the amazing Chinese banyan trees and just relax a little bit!
