We were so excited to get into the Disneyland hotel as we haven't been in HK for the longest time. We arrived the day after Christmas. But when we got there, the staff weren't very welcoming. None greeted us as we arrived although they did manage to take care of our luggage. Then from checking in our room, we expected the room to be ready by 2PM as this was the check-in time for most hotels. We got in to our room at 4PM! We expected that there would be a lot of visitors coming since it was the holidays, but it was still a waste of time as we wished to be at the theme park by 4PM instead of a few minutes before evening. During peak season, we expect the staff to be ready for the volume of visitors that are coming during these days. So ate in one of their restaurants while waiting. It can get pretty loud in there and the food was overpriced and have small servings, but since we're in a hotel and its Disney we didn't mind. At least the presentation of the food was yummy.

Inside the room, it was very classical and old fashioned as this is how Disney hotels are known as well and its pretty amazing. Bathroom was very clean although toiletries weren't enough and you had to call for room service and they were pretty slow. Speaking of slow, our luggage were taken to the room 30 mins after. Point deducted again. The showers were okay since our tub clog wasn't working so we had to use the overhead shower.

Although we may have wasted time from checking in, the beauty of the hotel was incredible! You could see a lot of Mickey's and you'll feel like a kid again wanting to run around like the other kids there. Outside the hotel, you would see the maze garden. At first we were like, "this is a maze? this is too easy!" since the height of the maze garden was just at chest level. But when you get in, you really get lost and you should try it! It'll be fun with your sons and daughters getting lost inside the maze.

Despite the amount of visitors there during peak season and how our check-in was pretty late, the hotel was still very beautiful and you would enjoy how everything was made. Still, A MUST TRY to fully enjoy the Disney Experience. :)

We visited the Disney Park in Hong Kong and stayed at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel. This was our second visit. The first was perhaps a little over 5 years ago and we'd stayed at the Hollywood Hotel.

Based on the suggestions of other reviewers, we elected to stay at the Kingdom Club room. We did not regret this decision one bit.

The hotel itself is very well maintained and looks great on arrival.

The front desk then gives you a pass to use the elevator to go up to the Kingdom Club floor on the 7th floor for the check-in.

The check-in itself is handled at the Kingdom Club lounge and one can relax, have a coffee/cookies while the formalities are being handled.

We'd requested an early check-in (by an hour or so) and it was handled well.

The check-in staff are amazing and give you all the details as well as options for the stay and the park tickets. They also help work out the best alternatives.

Now moving to the room. I doubt the rooms are any different from the other rooms. They are large but not spacious. Ours came with a balcony which overlooked the maze. At night, the resort gets lit up and looks nice.

Our room came with two double beds which were comfortable. Strangely, the TV showed the same cartoons on a loop. There is a decent desk but lets face it, you aren't coming here to work. There is no wifi in the rooms.Wifi is available only in the Kingdom Club lounge

The bathroom is standard. However, our tub wasn't cleaned well. One call fixed that immediately. Surprisingly, neither the shower stall nor the bathtub have a hand shower.

We'd also asked for a 'Celebration overlay' as this was a 'birthday trip' for our daughter. It was done well. The package basically comprises a door sticker, a large window sticker on the balcony door, two large runners (one for each bed), perhaps 6 balloons, a card and an attractive cake made out of towels. Overall, the look of this is quite nice. We'd also asked for a proper birthday cake which was delivered to the room. The cake tasted good. But most importantly, the staff worked with us to make this a good 'surprise' for our daughter.

Since the rooms are pretty similar I guess, is the extra cost for the Kingdom Club worth it? in a simple resounding word, YES.

The lounge is a really nice place. Breakfast there is a lovely way to start the day and they will prepare eggs just the way you want them.

Through the day, there are some activities for kids. These range from painting crowns, to making towel animals and even coloring.

In the evening, the Kingdom Club lounge really comes alive. It almost feels like a home lounge with kids sprawled around the coffee table coloring and adults sipping wine/beer on couches/chairs. the snacks in the evening are pretty good as well. The lounge is also a nice place to watch the fireworks but note that the balcony that is actually before the entrance to the lounge is a much better place to watch the fireworks. The view is clearer.

And the evening ends with a bedtime story by the staff and finally either Mickey or Minnie come out in their pajamas to wish each kid a good-night. Great photo op that beats standing in the queue at the park.

The only drawback to the stay is the absolutely terrible food that others have mentioned as well. The restaurants or the room service and even in the parks, the food is just plain inedible. The quality appears suspect and the food itself is tasteless. This is a complete contrast with the food served in the lounge. But then keep in mind that taste is obviously subjective.

What really sets this place absolutely apart and keeps people coming back (our daughter already is planning her next trip), is the superb amazing service.

Every interaction with any cast member (as the staff are called) be it the Lounge staff, Housekeeping or the bell desk is characterised by super efficiency and a genuine smile.

Achieving these standards is not easy and hats off to Disney. This service helps turn a good holiday into a magical memory.

One final tip. Check out the Platinum Magic pass if you have a large number of people in your party and are celebrating a birthday. It may just payoff itself plus save you some money

We really enjoyed the Disneyland Hotel. My partner and I stayed for two nights in a Sea View Balcony room and it was clean and comfortable with a lovely view directly out across the garden maze to the ocean. Our check in was smooth and efficient, greeted at the front doors and shown through to the Front Desk. As was our departure, greeted at the lift, bags taken to a taxi, destination given to the driver and we were even told how much fare we should expect to pay the driver.
The hotel is lovely, very Disney themed but felt great to be part of even as two adults travelling with no children. It's a great location within a ten minute walk of Disneyland or get the hotel shuttle. Our park tickets were organised by Nicky at Reception.
We dined at Crystal Lotus and Walt's Cafe and they were both excellent. The service and food were more than adequate. We couldn't fault anything really.............it's DISNEY! What's not to love!

The only place to stay if you are with children visiting Hong Kong Disneyland. The hotel is immaculate, the character dinner & breakfast with the Disney character's is a must, and the food is also yummy. Fun, fun, fun are the only words to describe this place. I've been to Disneyland in the USA & Paris, but this place is the best for children under 10 years of age. The hotel is fantastic, my kids loved the night time story telling sessions, they spent hours in the hotel pool and they loved running around the maze. The hotel staff are very polite and accommodating, the children also loved receiving their character sticker's. The only one thing in Disneyland you must remember, is to have a "magical day" ! :-))

Our travel agency booked us a garden view room for two nights. We arrived at the hotel at 10am, registration was quick. Front desk was helpful in relaying the contents of the hotel's information sheet. My 6-year-old daughter had her princess makeover at the boutique. We were at the park by lunch time.

Shuttle service was reliable.

After the fireworks, we came back to the hotel to get the key card, our luggage already in our room. We had a good night sleep. Characters on our first day breakfast: Mickey, Goofy and Pluto. The next day: Goofy, Mickey and Daisy. My daughter liked the pancakes, waffles and fruits.

We decided to rest on our second day. We tried the garden maze and had a leisurely walk near the ferry pier. On our last day, we checked out after our breakfast, left our luggage at the hotel and proceeded to the park. Later, we went back to the hotel lobby and enjoyed the music played by their pianist as we waited for our transfer back to the airport.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience for us. There's Mystic Point and the Kingdom Suite to look forward to on our next visit.

We did not stay at this hotel, however we booked well in advance for the character buffet dinner on a Monday night. Such a wonderful way to finish a day at the Disneyland park.

Our kids were 3.5 years, and 13 months old. The look on their faces when Mickey, Minnie, goofy, and Pluto came around to the tables was amazing and priceless. Minnie was just fantastic and hung around our table a lot (we had 2 little blonde haired, fair skinned girls- so that type of attention was not uncommon for the whole trip!). However we are assuming that the Mickey, Pluto and goofy characters were played by males, and although they were not dismissive, they didn't give as much attention to the kids as Minnie Mouse did. Not disappointed either way- it was fantastic. All characters were followed around by a photographer who worked really well with children, posing, and families to get the best shots for you. they do take one or two photos on your own camera too, but they didnt turn out as well as the 'official' ones taken by them. We ended up with 6 folders of photos to choose from. The only negative was that this was a bit disruptive to our dinner as had to keep stopping eating and wiping our hands before placing the photos down to look through afterwards. Would be better if they explained the process and then waited until the end of a meal before presenting all the photos to look through and then choose which ones we wanted to buy. We were not pressured to buy any which was good, as some were better than others obviously, but they did muck up which packages we wanted/paid for. This was sorted at the end but we had to wait 10-15 minutes afterwards for the correct size and quantity of photos to be reprinted. The packages were well priced, considering it would be a once in a lifetime experience you want to remember.

The international buffet (food), itself was fantastic in quality and selection available. Loads of different cuisines available which was a welcome relief for our young kids who struggled with not having western food available for quite some time. Really happy with what was on offer. The price was on the more expensive side, however is equivalent for what you would pay in australia for a buffet with that range and quality. If you consider the character dining experience, it's very worth it.

As I said, we didn't stay in the hotel accommodation but the few hours we spent in the enchanted garden restaurant was fantastic. I can see others have said there was no selection or quality in the same restaurant, and has me wondering if they were at the same hotel we went to!! Definitely no complaints from us.
