Being catered mainly for the kids, the decor and rooms are all catered for the kids
and their come-along family.

We had the kingdom suite which is indeed worth splurging as ;
1) The 2 double beds are large, almost adequate for 2 adults and 2 kids,
2) The all days snacks and drinks are a welcome respite esp where everything here
comes with a mickey sign and a dollar sign but it was convenient to have a lounge
for the kids to hang out and service here was fully dedicated and the bfast was a blast,
3) Fast passes to some of the most popular rides,
4) Located only on the highest floor, almost assured of quiet and more affluent
neighbours, being so close to mainland china,
5) We get to see fireworks from the comfort of the kingdom suite balcony (the best
and most comfortable vantage point to see the daily fireworks) and
6) My 2 girls get to enjoy dedicated bedtime story-telling every night followed by
7) Pyjamas party hosted by mickey and minnie nightly,,,,what a swell day for the kids to
end the long day.....
8) And we get to check out of the hotel at the club lounge with no queue (took me all of 3 mins) vs joining the morning queue to checkout.

As a result, there was no need for them to queue for photo shots with mickey or
minnie or friends in the park,,,,we already had some much of their unfettered
attention in the kingdom club and dinner that they even played games with them,
played pranks on them etc,,,

The only whim we had with the rooms were that the beds were a wee bit too hard (for
a 5 star hotel), the showers couldn't be pulled down (esp for showering young
children) and some of the furniture were not child-friendly and had sharp edges. and also the twin beds should be 2 queen beds of 1.8m/2m vs 2 double beds of 1.5m width, a bit narrow esp as hotel expects adults to sleep with their kids.

The hotel also had a nice jogging trail along the waterfront promenade. The gym and
heated indoor was nice and well-equipped but glad it was under-utilised. The lobby
and public areas were all classy and had a really nice ambience.

The breakfast with mickey and friends are not as great as the buffet dinner where
the spread is bigger, much more yummier and b'cos the crowds are 1/4 the size of the
breakfast crowds, at dinner, mickey and friends fawn over you for the full 1.5hrs vs
the 2 shots per table and go, for the crazy bfast time.

The waltz cafe was also nice with some local food, although service was a bit slow.

Service staff was always prompt and courteous and all end with a "have a magical
day". And indeed we did.

The kingdom suites are indeed expensive but for the above, it was worth it and more.
In fact, as I write, I am already making reservations for the promise to my 2 little
girls to bring them back.

First off, the hotel/park is conveniently located near the airport, cost us HK$120 from Terminal 2 to Disneyland Hotel. Upon arrival you are welcomed by the hotel staff and personally escorted until you reach the check in counter. We arrived early but were allowed to check in. There is a nook by the side of the check in counter with a flat screen and small seats for children where they can watch cartoons while the adults are busy checking in. Also, the front desk staff will advise you of ongoing hotel and park promos. We got our park tickets at the front desk, 2 day ticket for the price of 1 day ticket. Not bad. If you're tired from your trip and still not up to going to the park, there is a big pool and a maze within the hotel that you can explore. The guest room is spacious, with very comfortable beds and pillows and an equally spacious bathroom. And of course, Disney, Disney and more Disney channels to choose from (in Cantonese and English). Check out was a breeze, check out time is 11am, but luggages can be left at the concierge, Free shuttle services are available every 10-15 minutes to bring guests to the Disneyland Park. Disneyland Park has its own MTR stop, the Disneyland Resort Line. Do ride the Disneyland MTR and see the various Disney glass encased figurines, while enjoying the view via the Mickey shaped windows.
* For tourists, do get an Octopus Tourist Day Pass for unlimited 1 day travel at the MTR, HK$55 for adults and HK$25 for children, should you plan on travelling outside the resort.
* Forgot your toiletries and medicines? Tung Chung MTR station is one stop away and is connected to CityGate outlet mall, that has a supermarket (Taste) at the basement. The mall also has a number of restaurants and a big food court (Food Republic).
* Need to exchange foreign currencies? CityGate Outlet Mall has a money exchange at Basement 2, just beside the left luggage lockers.
* Forgot to buy those souveneirs inside the park? Dont fret, the hotel has a boutique at the lobby that sells the same Disney merchandise available at the park, minus the park crowd and queue.
