Description: La Vache! is a neighborhood steakhouse that provides a distinctively Parisian dining experience in the heart of Hong Kong’s vibrant Soho district. Inspired by the spirit of old Parisian brasseries, the restaurant pays homage to the renowned Relais de Venise by offering a simple menu where diners enjoy just one dish: a green salad followed by steak frites served with generous pots of sauce made according to La Vache!‘s secret recipe.

We reserved a table for 4 and all I can say it was an experience missing from Hong Kong. You expect to find a lot of exotic and fashionable restaurants in the SOHO district but this one you can’t even find in paris anymore. It has this pre-WWII feeling to it, you walk down to the main room where you'll find great paintings reminiscentof the classic parisian bristros and wine bottles lined up behind your seat adding a 30s feel to the place.
And the fact that they serve one dish makes it even better as the french steak et frites is constantly perfected. For around HK$260 you get more than what you could chew on! And they are not stingy on baguettes. While you have an excellent choice of red wines to choose from.
As for desert you can’t go wrong with their tarte tatin or paris brest. Even their creme caramel is accompanied with fresh berries!
This is a great place for those like us who are a bit tired of going to very familiar concepts in the city and want an aauthentic French experience few miles aways from our doorstep.

Dear Lorelei M,

Thank you for your feedback — we’re sorry that you didn’t get a chance to dine with us.

La Vache! is a neighbourhood restaurant that, in the style of the Parisian entrecôtes, does not accept reservations for parties under 5. We are fortunate to have become a popular destination for steak frites in Hong Kong, which means that there is often a wait — even on a Wednesday. To ensure that everyone gets a seat, we allocate 90 minutes per table, which we find to be more than enough time to enjoy a meal at La Vache! However, if there isn’t anyone waiting, we welcome guests to stay as long as they like.

We hope that you will give us another shot and join us again — for a 7pm table, we recommend putting your name in around 6 or 6:30pm, and grabbing a drink while you wait (it’s part of the fun!). We pride ourselves on being the best steak frites restaurant in town, so we’re confident you won’t be disappointed!

Sincere regards,

The La Vache! Team
