“Nice but not as good as I expected”
Reviewed January 30, 2014 via mobile

We were fortunate enough to have dinner looking over the harbor and the light and music show at the ICC. Many people told us how great it was so my expectations were quite high. It was neat to see and definitely distracted us for a good 10min or so. I do think it could be better though with images across multiple buildings and a theme, similar to what I have seen in other cities in a smaller scale. Either way, if you are having dinner during the time of the light show and can request a table to see it, it is a bonus to the dinner but I would not go out of your way to see it.

Thanks for your review.

Sorry to inform you that ICC Light & Music Show is different from Symphony of Lights which started at 8:00pm every night with lights of 47 key buildings on both Hong Kong Island and Kowloon interact with each other.

The ICC Light & Music Show takes place on Hong Kong’s tallest building, International Commerce Centre, combining music and animated stories using an advanced computer programme that controls the LEDs on the building facades to create images and produce extravaganzas of music and animation. The best places for viewing the Show are the P3 and P4 public terraces of IFC Mall in Central, which have advanced audio equipment broadcasting the music in sync with the show. Viewers can also download the ICC Light and Music Show smartphone app to listen while watching from the shores of Victoria Harbour.

“Better viewed from the dockside”
Reviewed January 29, 2014

We booked a boat cruise specifically to watch the light spectacular. The lights were lovely, one building the ICC in particular entertained us more than anything. The cruise around the harbour was pleasant but the group of German retirees like us were a bit underwhelmed. The free drinks may appeal to some but it wasn't the greatest. I think a view from the shore would better suit.

“Decent light and music show seen on the ICC building in Kowloon”
Reviewed January 13, 2014

The ICC LIght and Music Show is a LED light show that is performed at 7.45pm and 9pm each evening, shown upon the International Commerce Centre (ICC) building in Kowloon. The light show is supposed to tell the story of Hong Kong and its people, although this might not appear obvious to those watching the building lights, especially if you haven't downloaded the app to listen to the music that accompanies the light show.

Interestingly this light and music show is recognised by the Guinness World Records as being the largest light and sound show on a single building - for whatever this is worth. The light show itself is ok, there are some nice light patterns and images created on the ICC building. We probably like the swimming koi carp the best. We also do recommend that you download the sound app so that you can better enjoy watching the light show. Without sound, the show might become a bit boring for some.

The best place to watch the show is from the waterfront promenade area from Sheung Wan to Causeway Bay, with the closest viewing point being the area around Sheung Wan and Central. Overall, the ICC LIght and Music Show is ok to watch if you are in the area of Victoria Harbour at the time of the performance but its not an ordeal if you miss this one.

“Enchanting moments!”
Reviewed November 16, 2013

Coincidentally, we were on the ferry from Wan Chai Ferry Pier when the show started at 9.00pm.its really beautiful and lovely watching it with sea breeze around. The building itself is like the message board or a LCD display. When we watched it, there were falling leaves and 'HOPE' word playing around the building. I kind of miss this show.

“See it from Star Ferry Night Harbour Cruise”
Reviewed November 13, 2013

We saw this from the Star Ferry harbour cruise which was a lovely experience in itself. We got on from HK island (which gets you the best seats!) and then you get a 40 min cruise around the harbour before picking up more people from Kowloon. Then you get the 15 min light show before getting back to HK island. Very good way to see the show as from land you would only see one side whereas both sides of the harbour are involved.
