I had this on my list of "touristy" things-to-do. It was OK - antiques musn't be my thing. The surrounding market stalls with fresh fruit are far more interesting.

There are dozens and dozens of little bars and restaurants along Hollywood road. No need to book anywhere or rack your brain of where to go. Just get dropped off and take a walk.

Hollywood Road and the surrounding area is one of the most under sated parts of Hong Kong. I recommend to anyone as there is something for everyone. Whether you get a cab or the famous escalator from Central is up to you. The antique shops are exclusive and very expensive, but the little shops and market stalls always have unusual things in them and are competitive - fun to haggle.
The temple is worth visiting as well. In the evening and night time the area is transorfmed into a buzzing party village, with smart bars, music and the cisty workers having a good night out or a relaxing drink before going home. The Pacific Grill on Stauton Street is an excellent restaurant with good food, excellent steaks and good wine at reasonable prices, it is one of my favorate eating places on the island (along with Amigos over in Happy Valley). You can always walk to Lan Qui Fong, which is only ten minutes away but please try several of the bars in Soho as they are full of atmosphere. Happy days!

Rode the Ding Ding and then took the escalator up to Hollywood Road. Many of the shops weren't open yet, but the ones we visited were very cool. Lots of interesting antiques. Telescopes, bird cages, art, boxes, carvings. Things were expensive, but such a different type of shopping compared to Stanley Market or the Ladies Market. Worth a couple of hours if you have it to spare.
