“Great new hotel.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2013

This is a very new hotel and very nice. It is not in downtown Kowloon. It is North and east in the Kowloon Tong area. Very close to the metro stop for Diamond Hill. The price was very good. The staff was very friendly. The room I took is very small but clean and well taken care of. The breakfast buffet was exceptional. I will definitely stay there again. Not a 4* hotel, but a solid 3.5* hotel.

I stayed with my wife for 3nights as a short holiday from Shanghai, China. The location is not popular, so may need to take cab from airport or Kowloon station for first visit. It's also possible to go by bus and you will be at the hotel within 40-60 mins. It's actually not close to popular sight seeing locations. Instead, the room is quite big (as in Hong Kong) and the other facilities are also quite nice and was exceeding my expectation. Additionally, hotel provides two lines of free shuttle bus service and one is to TST K11. So you don't need to worry so much about the location. The only complaint was that the free-wifi was slow when I was staying.

My husband and I stayed here one night. I was looking for a low priced hotel in Hong Kong and only needed one night. The Pentahotel had only been open about 1 month when we arrived. The style was very trendy and is in the Kai Tak area, where the new cruise terminal had just opened in the location of the old Hong Kong Airport, Kai Tak. Service was quite good for a new hotel and the hotel seemed pretty busy. We got the grand opening rate of 888HKD (about $115USD), which was perfect for what we needed. The rate included breakfast, which was a buffet with a good selection of continental cuisine and Asian. The staff are all young with a uniform of dark jeans and black long sleeved t-shirts with trendy black on black lettering. Check-in/out was all done via iPad. The room was quite small, but had all the mod cons. Bathroom could use a bit more bright light, though. We had dinner upon arrival at their restaurant Eatstreet, Service was very friendly, but we were not terribly impressed with our chicken fried rice and Asian beef noodles. The game room areas were very active while we were there. We did not have time to experience any other hotel amenities. I expect this hotel will get quite busy when the new cruise ports gets up to full capacity. I would definitely recommend it to someone who is young and fun loving. One piece of advice, because it's so new, not many taxi drivers are familiar with it. Ours had to call them, thankfully I had all the details handy.

Room Tip: Take a high floor. The neighborhood is a commercial type area, so it could be a bit noisy on the low...

would have to b one of the best designed hotels i have ever stayed in.
The rooms cleverly use the space. The foyer and sitting rooms with pool tables and listening stations with ipads and headphones are awesome. And the buffets in the eating area... omg
I would certainly recommend this place

When arriving at the hotel, which is NOT easy to find, you can tell it is slightly different. The "front desk" is on the second floor and there is a baggage drop on the ground floor. The open plan is slightly different than many other hotels with the restaurant/buffet right off the main courtesy desk.

The rooms are nice, if a little smaller than expected and reasonably well-furnished.

It was a real disappointment to have the pool closed and the hotel was (as a clerk admitted) not yet finished. Overhearing another guest checking in, he admitted that he had difficulty finding the hotel and that there were issues for the taxi driver.

Given the recommendation of a travel agent, it seemed like a good place. Overall, it was ok, but unless there are some changes, it is not likely to stay again.

On the plus side, after some serious confusion, phone tag and several emails, there were a couple of personal items returned via courier. It took over a week to sort it out though. There were issues understanding both English and Mandarin.

I was quite nervous about my last minute trip and hotel accommodations , I usually stay with Hilton brands and there were no available dates with my points . I found the Pentahotel and the Gods must have been smiling on me. Check-in was smooth and the staff accommodating . Our room was very clean and the bed and pillows were comfy . The flat screen tv had several English speaking channels. The hotel bathroom only had a shower and was fine with me . The hotel has many cool things to do there during your stay , wii games , pool table , Mac computers w/ free Internet in rooms and all over the hotel. And a really cool listening station where you can don stereophonic headphones and listen to any type of music. The awesome breakfast buffet was very well stocked with American, Chinese and European types of food . We had breakfast in a dining area with high back chairs and a fire place. Our tea cups were never empty , we were in such an intimate setting that we were able to try Chinese foods that I would not have experienced, outside of the local restaurants at home. I was not able to eat at the hotel at night because we toured Hong Kong during the day and ate while we were out but the hotel restaurant was very busy when we returned at nite. The hotel is not in the central area however, you can reach anywhere you want to be with their very sophisticated MTRailway system. Also the best tourist shopping is located at the Mok kok station only 4 stops away on the MTR. We walked there easily from the hotel about three blocks. Plus it was really nice to see the neighborhood and the residents reaction to new faces in the area .
The hotel is new and I think that the residents around the hotel are getting use to the new faces. The manager helped us carry our bags to the taxi for the airport. now thats a personal touch. Overall the hotel was very nice and I will stay here again on my next visit to Hong Kong and I would highly recommend it to all types of travelers

Room Tip: The swimming pool was not open I was unable to reset the rating to blank
