“Aaah, the serenity”
Reviewed May 29, 2013 via mobile

I discovered the Chi Lin Nunnery through Trip Advisor and took the MTR from Hong Kong Island to Diamond Hill. The exit maps in the station tell you the best exit for the Nunnery. The walk is short.

The Nunnery is truly serene and quite beautiful. The gardens are stunning, even though I'm not into them ordinarily. Juxtaposed against HK apartment towers, this is worth a visit.

“Beautiful and quiet”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

In contrast to the busy downtown of HKG, this place is absolutely quiet!. Nice scenery, the directors often use this place for dramas.

“Best vegetarian”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

Tried their banquet dinner for 12 people. Amazing beetroot salad for appetizer. Lots of deep fried mushrooms, and morel mushroom and cashew soup. Different vegetarian food from the typical Chinese 'fake' vegetarian food that is greasy and oily.

“Nice change of pace in Hong Kong”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

Very quiet. We were able to be there for some morning prayer time and it was peaceful. No photos can be taken once you enter the nunnery.
