Place closes at 430pm, did not manage to see the inside, only walk around the compound. It's accessible through MTR Diamond Hill. Walk through Hollywood Plaza's Marks and Spencer. Then it's a 5 mins walk from there.

Take a break from the chaos of Hong Kong streets - take the MTR to Diamond Hill station and walk around the beautiful lake in the gardens at the Chi Lin nunnery. There's also an amazing Bonsai garden and amazing carp pond.

This is a beautiful work of art in so many ways! There were no nails used in building this amazing architectural wonder!! The wood used in building the structure came all the way from Canada and many visitors were there to see this way of building a structure like this!!
The Nan Lian Gardens next to this Nunnery are well worth seeing, as well! And the Lotus Gardens are also magnificent to see! The stone moat where the lotus flowers are in full bloom have carved serpents heads, from which the water pours out into the pool! Very nice! Well worth the 2 hours or so it takes to see this attraction!
There is a waterfall and there is a restaurant behind the water so I would love to return and try the restaurant.....I think the setting behind the water would be very unique!!

The title says it all, so peaceful, so green, with marvelous gardens and fantastic wooden temples built without a single nail. Don't miss the tiny museum that explains how those buildings are put together!

A visit to this Nunnery was a very pleasant way to fill in the morning before going to the airport. An oasis in the hubbub. The adjoining Nan Lian Gardens were more interesting,
