Beautiful buddhas and relaxing garden. No photos were allowed and they did not have any postcards or photos for sale.

“Tranquil and soothing”

Great place to take a break from the city hustle. Beautiful nunnery with well kept lotus pond. Make sure to respect the silent environment since lots of people come for praying.

“A gem in a ting city of HK”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

This is a treasure and a delightful place to visit Time after time. It is a nunnery which is built in a very very lovely quiet setting near Diamond hill. You can get there by the underground. The nunnery is well organised and it is spotlessly clean. It is never busy and very very tranquil. you can spend half a day just walking around admiring the beautiful trees and plants and beautiful marbles and rocks, needless to say their Buddhas. They have a gigantic pond which is like the size of a football field with hundreds of beautiful Kohl Carps fish. They are the stars of the nunnery. There is a museum and also a very clean cafe for people to relax in. There is also a restaurant with waterfall on the outside. The whole place is amazing. You don't need to be a Buddhist to visit this place.

“Chi Lin isn't chillin'...”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

This has been on both our must see lists for Hong Kong for the past several trips, but since we use public transportation, it hasn't made it since it is north of the Mong Kok area and a bit of a way out of our orbit. I'm glad we've crossed it off our list and don't have to think of it as a must do. It isn't. There is a modest, concrete encased garden to walk around, and a concrete path that takes you by several smaller altars as well as the main hall. No photos at any of those, which we scrupulously observe, but that wasn't good enough for the bored, unfriendly "security" people who roamed the facility and barked at BOTH of us for imaginary infractions of rules - the chief one seeming to be that we were westerners. The nuns are off somewhere else - this is just a cold, distant place to walk around and, if you Chinese Buddhist, you can pray and leave monetary offerings in a few locales. A must miss.

“Beautiful gardens”
Reviewed October 17, 2012

I totally recommend that you visit these gardens. So beautiful. But do not sit in the gardens you will be moved into a room where you can't soak in the nature!
