We went were after the night show at the harbor for a drink. Very friendly stuff and the cocktails are ok.
The place is great and provides a nice overlook of the central place.

“Beautiful venue and scenery, but service needs A LOT of improvement”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 10, 2013

Was walking around TST and looked for a nice place for afternoon tea. The afternoon tea look decent and the price not too bad. There was 2 sets of prices of tea, 48hk$ and 50hk$. The 48hk$ were included in the set but to change it to the other ones we had to pay 20hk$, even if the menu difference was only 2 hk$ on the menu. When I point out this difference, the person in charge didn't say anything.
The food was nice, the tea as well and the venue very enjoyable. There was 15 clients for 8 waiting staff in the room but still, it was very hard to get their attention. When we asked for the bill, I stayed 5 min trying to get someone's attention and we had to wait another 5 min to actually get the bill. I don't see any reason to wait so long in a place of this budget. Totally overpriced.

“Great spot for a quiet drink”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013

After an interesting trip across the harbour from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon on the Star Ferry where a tether rope snapped and a hairy docking situation arose we decided it was time for a drink. Only after taking pictures of the unrivaled Hong Kong sky line of course! The harbour area is supremely busy both with tourists and locals who use the star ferry to cross (tickets are roughly 17p per person!) and with it being so warm we were looking for somewhere quiet to gather thoughts and plan the evening.

Diagonally across from the Star Ferry landing is the 1881 Heritage shopping mall. The mall itself is the old Hong Kong Marine police headquarters and is a large Victorian styled building on on many levels which include a mall, hotel and exhibition space. The grounds are dotted with historical guns and other show pieces. Nestled on an upper floor away from the hustle and bustle of the area is the Galley Cafe and Dining restaurant.

This appears to be a quite up market eatery though the staff were very pleasant and happy to offer us a table outside for a few drinks. The view looks directly out over the mall and out to the curved Hong Kong Cultural Centre and then beyond to the Hong Kong skyline where you can just see the top of the light show.

It so happened to be happy hour which meant for me on all draft lagers that you buy one and are given a voucher for another one free. Since Stella Artois was on tap and essentially half price it would have been rude not to cool myself off with several of these... Typically my wife had to have the Appletini cocktail that was not on special and roughly £11 per glass. However it was a large cocktail and strong so I am not really complaining.

If you have been watching the light show after coming over on the star ferry and feel the need to get a quite drink or indeed a meal then the Galley was a very short walk and was an excellent place to sit down and get away from the crowds.

“Nice place for a drink”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2013 via mobile

You are paying for the ambience here, if that's what you want, you'll have a good time. Afternoon tea for two seems popular with couples at 3pm. Quality is good, value is subjective.

“Nice spot in sunshine for a drink”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

We found this a nice spot for a drink on the terrace in the sunshine. Had a Tsing Tao ($48 HK) and a Merlot ($78 HK) - as well as a 10% service charge on top. [Why can't places in Hong Kong just up the prices by 10% across the board as not all places pass on the service charge to staff anyway].
