I attending an early service in English on a Sunday morning. The church was packed, standing room only, and people participated. Seems like an active parish. I think it's a great church to attend a service (and then go over to the history museum or the science museum) which are both very close. There were also taxi's lined up after the service.
On the other hand, if you are looking for a church to see as a tourist site, this church is nice but isn't a stunning cathedral or anything like that. There is a nice grotto and the exterior of the building is interesting. But I probably wouldn't go see it as a site. Go there as a faithful person to get something from your visit.
