Description: Situated in our busy lobby, EXpresso is a stylish modern café offering freshly brewed premium Italian illy coffee and a choice of delicious light bites. With more than fifteen varieties of authentic Italian coffees to choose from, we can make anything from smooth caffe lattes to strong black Americanos or frothy cappuccinos. Just ask our baristas and they'll do their best to create the drink of your choice. We also offer Lord Stow's original egg tarts from Macau together with a choice of gourmet sandwiches, delicious salads and home made pastries. Lovingly prepared with the freshest ingredients, these light bites are the perfect choice for guests on the go. The popular homemade Roselle-Fig jam is available for sale in Expresso. The jam features the lusciously sweet, slightly chewy texture of figs combined with Vitamin C-rich roselle with a citrus flavour.

Thanks to TripAdvisor for some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. Believe the reviews, the combination of illy coffee made properly and the egg tarts was just perfect. Not expensive either. The walk in 35 degrees was worth it!

Located next to the lifts in the Excelcior Hotel, this small cafe punches above its weight. Illy coffee made in a proper machine, served either takeaway or in mugs and saucers. I ordered a medium cappuccino with an extra shot (they don’t offer flat whites) and it was superb. The food ranges from prepacked sandwiches, fruit salads and bottled smoothies, to the usual array of starchy sugary muffins and pastries. I chose a salmon quiche which was very good. Fresh and tasty. Decor a little spartan with seating on padded stainless steel stools (18) and three small tables with benches around the side. Recommended for a quick stop.

Although not the original Portuguese egg tart, they come pretty close. Nice selection of Danish pastries for a quick morning breakfast and the coffee is great. Despite being tucked away in a small corner of the Excelsior hotel near the elevators, it’s still a great place to start the day exploring Causeway Bay!

This is a little gem of a place. Grab a coffee, and a custard tart for breakfast, the toasties were great too.
Quick lunch of Steak pie. Tiny little place but great food and drinks in here.

We recently stopped by EXpresso coffee shop at the Excelsior Hotel in Causeway Bay for Lord Stow's tarts, the famous Macau based maker of Portuguese pastel de nata. EXpresso is the exclusive seller of Lord Stow's tarts here in Hong Kong. Opening hours 7am-7pm on weekdays, 8am-7pm (Sat) and 8am-6pm (Sun).

You can order tarts individually HK$11 each at Expresso and enjoy them with the strong Illy brand coffee. Alternatively, you can buy box sets of 4 (HK$42) or 6 (HK$60) if you want to take some back to your hotel to enjoy later.

As far as taste, they are pretty good - not as nice as having them fresh from the bakery in Coloane, Macau but still pretty good. Less flaky than those dished out in Macau, the custard is the same.

In the end, if you are going to Macau, just wait and enjoy the originals from Lord Stow's there. However, if your visit to Hong Kong doesn't include a couple days in Macau, go on and try the pastel de nata here at EXpresso. They are very good and uniquely different than the local Cantonese style tarts that you will find routinely throughout HK.
