“Lunch in a lunchbox, poor portions and an empty place which does not accept reservations for lunch.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2013

I visited this restaurant with colleagues for a birthday lunch. First surprise: this place does not accept bookings for lunch (which leaves you at first under the impression the place must be popular). Once arrived at 1:00 PM, we realize we are the only clients (with a reason, we will discover).
We order the food from the set menu, and we are warned immediately by the waitress that portions might be disappointing. And they are indeed. Besides (SURPRISE!!!) food comes in...paper lunch boxes.
In a nutshell, the pleasure of the birthday lunch was completely ruined by the "exclusive" feeling or taking a meal on Ryan Air, in total absence of the most remote intention to leave a decent impression on (the only) customers. A total FLOP!

“Trendy, but I don't really get it...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 16, 2013

This is a somewhat surprising Mexican restaurant. The entrance is sort of through an open, bright take-away Mexican taqueria (bar/café) which isn’t terribly nice looking, but once past that, the actual restaurant is a nicely lit and classy, with a traditional kind of feel to it with dark wood and cosy tables. The food is somewhat surprising too – with a Mexican theme to it, but none of the dishes you would expect of a Mexican restaurant. Don’t come here for an artery-hardening chimichanga or gut-busting burrito; it’s classy cuisine with a range of tequilas and margaritas to wash it down with.

There’s a limited vegetarian menu and my choice didn’t really look or taste particularly Mexican, but it was very good. My only problem is that I did go there looking for an artery-hardening chimichanga so came out a bit disappointed. Not their fault, but just make sure your expectations are set at the right level before you go… :-)

“Usual HK plastic”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 19, 2012 via mobile

This place to me is the usual HK superficial establishment. Yes the design is nice, only inside doh, the outside diner area really looks ugly to me. The food is somehow ok, cevice is fresh, tostadas are small and price is not cheap. The crowd that I found when I visited was the classic Hk show off crowd. Over all the place seems to me without much of a soul. Some of the servers looked a bit stand offish and VIP oriented. I didn't have a particularly interesting experience..... Compared the brick house (which also i don't adore) is smaller, more uncomfortable and messier, but it gives me a better vibe.

“very very good , shame about the music”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2012

They say a good meal should be an experience _ the venue the service and of vourse the food. The food in particular should be high quality and something you couldn't or wouldn't do st home This ticks all those boxes.
Great design. Knowledgeable helpful staff. And interesting well conceived and presented food. We had four starters to share between two and a dessert and it was more than enough. We will definitely be back.
My only criticism is that pumpkin like it turns into a night club st 11 if you are still finishing your meal it is not good to have tables and chairs removed around you It is even worse to have music turned up which has no relationship to Mexico at all - I could at least see the point if it was a Latin club but it justs seems another way to pay the rent. Fair enough but don't then have aspirations to be a great restaurant , which you are close to being.

“pretty good scene”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2012

Loved the atmosphere and staff treated me well. The food didn't seem fantastic though nothing was really wrong. May get better with some time. Great design and a beautiful crowd. If you want to take in the Whyndham street scene have a drink in the casual area outside.
