“Great italian restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2014 via mobile

We went to this restaurant on a date. When taxi droped us off we were not quiet sure if we got to the right place, but once we entered the restaurant we were pleasantly surprised. It has lovely atmosphere, very elegant but not in unconfortable posh way.The staff was great, knew the menu very well and gave us good recommendation.Steak was little bit chewy but overall the food was excelent, specialy pasta.Prices are reasonable for HK, Cold cuts, pasta, bottle of wine, steak and desert came up to 1400hkd. Definitely must try restaurant.

“A Must Italian Restaurant ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2014 via mobile

In keeping the principle that fresh produce makes good food, Giando restaurant goes much further presenting and serving wellness on all fronts. From the hosting atmosphere to the excellent wines and the gusto of Italian food it is indeed a place to dine in.
From the moment the chef in my wedding was Giando we have been following his cooking ever since!

“Cibo eccezional! Rare, authentic Italian fare in Hong Kong”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2014

My husband and I recently visited Hong Kong and had dinner at Giando with a small group of friends. Situated at the historic Fenwick Pier, the waterfront restaurant boasts a stunning view of the Victoria harbour. The interior is chic and understated yet warm and welcoming - quite unlike anything else in the city.

Charming and charismatic, Chef Gianni (formerly of Isola) took great care of our table from start to finish. The extensive menu which offers a superb selection of classic Italian dishes can be a tad overwhelming for first-time patrons so we really appreciated the Chef’s personal recommendation as well as the time he took to check up on us throughout the evening.

While we were extremely impressed with the staff and service, the star of the evening had to be the food which was made with the freshest and highest quality ingredients. For starters, we shared the burrata, prosciutto e melone and calamari – all fresh, simple, and lovely. We also shared three exceptional pasta dishes. The strozzapreti di pasta fresca allo scoglio (seafood pasta) and risotto primavera (vegetarian risotto made with vegetables and mushrooms) were delicious but the winner had to be the sea urchin and bottarga spaghetti (sea urchin pasta). Rich in flavour and texture, the dish tasted like the Mediterranean Sea (in a good way!). The pizza trifola (truffle pizza) was also delightful. Chef Gianni told us that the dough for the pizza, which had an almost powdery texture, was made using naturally sparking mineral water from Italy and different types of doopio zero flour. The main courses were all very good, in particular the whole Italian sea bass and the la cotoletta alla Milanese (Milanese veal cutlet). The portion sizes were extremely generous. With all this amazing food, needless to say we didn't have any room for desserts which gives us the perfect excuse to come back to this outstanding restaurant!

P.S. There’s also an Italian grocer, Mercato by Giando, on the ground floor which offers high quality imported Italian food products.

“A really good italian”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2014

Usually i prefer asian foods. This time, for business reason, i've been here and i've been amazed by the level of the food andthe kow how of this italian chef. If you want. You can even buy italian foods by the supermarket located on the ground floor.
