Located just off the corner of On Chun St. and On Yuen St. across the street from the Ma On Shan Library is a long standing local restaurant that serves up western afternoon snacks and set dinner meals. Snacks range from french fried potatoes, chicken wings and sausages along with some traditional Chinese options - dumplings, etc.
At Take A Seat Cafe, there is also a set dinner menu of traditional 'western' dishes, prepared and cooked in local 'sinofied' way making them accessible to both local residents and the occasional western ex-pats or visitors that happen to be in the area. Set meals are a bit large, come with a soup, garlic bread and drink and taste ok. We recently had a chicken curry meal (HK$58) and a chicken/ham pasta with cream sauce (HK$65) and were happy with meal, not fantastic but good enough taste and quite good value for money considering the size of the portions (rating 3 of 5).
English menus are available, staff are quiet but friendly and the inside decor is ok and relaxing. There are just a few booths, allowing for approx. 12-14 diners at a time. Often in the evening, this restaurant is full but in the early afternoons there is usually open space to 'take a seat'.
Overall, not a restaurant you specifically target for dining but a good choice if you are in the area and want to try a local 'western' style restaurant.
