“Excellent Shanghainese restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

Came here with my family - in-laws are from Shanghai - and had a fantastic dinner. Food was authentic and very well done. Well priced for the quality of the food and surrounds. Definitely worth returning to.

“Shanghai food at it's best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

Ye Shanghai at the Hong Kong restaurant is the best Shanghai restaurant in Hong Kong.
Nicely decorated, comfortable and not as noisy as most HK restaurants. The food is simply perfect. Try the fresh water prawns, crispy and sweet, a dream. The shanghai dumplings are a must. I only had similar quality in Shanghai, China.
A restaurant that really deserves the 2 Michelin stars.
Book a table in advance to make sure you can enjoy the place.

“Terrible service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013 via mobile

We went for family dinner to celebrate my day's birthday. Food was okay & view of the harbour was spectacular, however, quality of service is below standard for a hotel restaurant. We were not allowed to order dessert and told to fix the bill by 8.30pm, despite there were 2 empty tables nearby and no guests waiting outside. The waiters even ignored us when we questioned why they needed the table back so urgently. What a terrible way to end the meal. Never visiting this restaurant again.

“Nice place for business dining”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2013

Hosted a business lunch for eight people in this 2 star Michelin restaurant. Nice vip room and there's a balcony where guests can go out to smoke if they wish! It's against the law to smoke inside the restaurant in HK!

Food is good! Besides serving a variety of Shanghainese cuisine, they do serve Chinese dimsum. Their "Char Siu Bao", BBQ Pork Bun is really worth trying!

Food presentation is nice! The five starters, Tea Leaf Smoked Egg, Sliced Pork Terrine, Wheat Gluten, Shredded Jelly Fish, Bean Jelly with Cucumber are served in one nice plate!

One of their specialty dish is Stir-fried shrimps with Sugar Peas!

If you are dining with a few people, try to order their Homemade Tofu Curd which is served in a wooden bucket!

Reservation is highly recommended, especially during lunch time!

“Great food, if a little uninspiring location.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2013 via mobile

We were looking for a good restaurant with quick service (needed to get midnight flight to London) at short notice. This was recommended to us by the hotel concierge as a two star Michelin.

The atmosphere was ok, but not great, however the food was innovative and very good, so all in all definitely worth the trip.

Overall quick, good value, great food if a little boring on the environmental side.

Would go again
