“Well located but cramped..”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 23, 2014

A clean hostel, very centrally located in Wan Chai and very clean with comfy beds. A cleaning lady is around who funnily clambers up everywhere to clean with her handbag still on! Front desk Staff are excellent and always willing to help. Toilet/bath facilities are woeful though. There are two tiny cubicles with toilets and sinks and I asked where the shower was...the answer was the shower units heads were in these same rooms! So a shower involved drenching the whole tiny room and not only that, both shower and WC cells opened right out onto the tiny common room so you had no privacy whatsoever. They really should consider losing one of the rooms here and using the space for a bigger common area and better bath facilities, perhaps separating the toilets so you don't get wet feet all the time. Other than that its great.

We had a private room for three nights. Clean and tidy facilities, really helpful staff, and we couldn't have asked for a more convenient location for a few days of sight seeing.

Easy walk to the MRT station, and I would recommend taking the MRT. There are lots of cool places within walking distance though.

I didn't have the best sleep as there was construction going on nearby. But bed was comfortable enough.

The room we had was clean and big enough for us. The shower was overtop of the toilet which I found a little odd, but it worked fine in terms of heat and pressure.

Stayed 2 nights here and LOVED IT. We were afraid that because of its low price, the place will come with dirty toilets and cramped room conditions but NO. The toilets were really clean because there's a cleaning lady around 24/7 to clean up after you. The toilets were small but that was not a problem. We stayed the double decker beds (4 of those in 1 room) and if you could choose, I'd definitely recommend the lower bunk cos the upper bunk was too close to the ceiling (my friend woke up hitting the ceiling). Us girls had no problem sharing the same room as guys because the door isn't fully closed plus there's people outside all the time. The concierge people were friendly and really generous with their advice (they speak Chinese and English fluently too) there's a handbook on the bookshelf to recommend places to eat and visit in HK and I loved how there are free bananas at the counter! :-) 2 comfy couches in the common living area makes for a comfy place to chat with fellow travellers while charging your cell phone or drying your hair! :D Overall, a pleasant stay that exceeded expectations and I would definitely be back again!

This hostel is conveniently located between Wan Chai and Causeway Bay MTR stops. There's plenty to do within walking distance, and Hong Kong is compact enough that it's easy to get just about anywhere you want to go.

I had the unfortunate circumstance of staying here when there was some very noisy construction nearby. It wasn't an issue overnight, but on a day when I wanted to sleep in it was nearly impossible. Again, I think this was an unusual occurrence and I can't hold it against the hostel.

The hostel is fairly small, but it seems standard for Hong Kong. I'm fairly tall (195 cm) and the bed was just barely long enough for me. It's clean and well-kept, and there are some nice resources available like maps and restaurant guides.

This hostel deserves to be recognized. After midnight and in the mornings, it's very quiet and so very good to catch up sleeping. Several outdoor activities are also organised to discover another part of Hong Kong (apart from Lan Kwai Fong and drinking parties)! The beds and the hostel are exceptionnally clean and quite spacious! The hostel is very secure too!

Certainly recommendable! Reservation/check-in/check-out was smooth. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean, safe and simple traits make up for its tininess. As you enter you find the front desk to your right, next to it are 2 shower/toilets, just in front of them 2 computers, next to these 2 couches and next to those the rooms and a tiny fridge. So basically if you take a shower you could chat with the ones in the 'common area' (couches). Really tiny place so you certainly will get to know other travelers. Free wifi, no breakfast but free bananas. If you just need a clean, safe place to sleep this is a great option for this type of accomodation. Well connected, just next to Wan Chai station and the A11 bus stop from the airport.

I stayed in their private room. It was, as predicted, tiny (in fact, I could touch both opposite walls at the same time) but it had a lovely feel to it. There was a little ensuite which had a small sink with a shower above it and a toilet. The shower was fine and nice and warm. Didn't get much (if any) natural light in the room but who wants to spend all their time in a hostel anyway?!?!?! Nice touches were the hairdryer and free fruit/water found in the room. I only stayed for two nights, but both very very quiet and the bed was actually quite comfortable. Much cheaper than the YMCA - but there you have a fantastic location with the possibility of a good view. I would definitely recommend downloading the instructions for getting there if you book via HostelWorld (I booked through them), as they give you the address in Chinese for the taxi driver and it would have been really tricky to find without the directions; the entrance is just a silver barred door in between some shops. You have to key in a security code that can be found on the booking confirmation slip.

The hostel was very clean and quiet and the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and spoke good English. Computers available in the reception area.

Just over the road from the hostel, you can find numerous local food cafes, alongside the obvious 'Starbucks' and McDonald type places (we went to the Spaghetti House one evening and the food was fab). There is a tram stop just outside and the metro is a 5 minute walk away.

Well worth it if you want a simple, quiet and clean place to sleep in Hong Kong.

Room Tip: Can only comment on the private room - well worth it.
