I came to HK for 7 days and I was initially at another Hostel but they didn't have enough room so I needed to move after about 4 days. I chose Check Inn because the room design and pictures looked good and had heard about the friendly family who run the place (think: customer service is the way to succeed rather than cheap prices and bad service)
The room I was in was pretty small and literally only fit beds, but they do have a social area that is like the reception/lobby area where everyone can get together and use the computer, talk etc.
The staff are very helpful but one thing that I would like to praise Check Inn for is the family (who also actually do the cleaning etc. as well as management) who run the hostel. I think the owner's name is Pinky (very pretty btw) she is very helpful and her mother is such a sweet heart. I was up on Victoria Peak and I was bitten all over on my legs, she examined my legs and went to get me medicine to ease the itching - this kind of friendliness you will not get at the more commercial places.
I enjoyed my time there and would highly recommend and anyone. They are close to Causeway and Chai Wan.
