If not, the crowds are full-on. I've resorted to taking a cab up to the peak because the queues to the fenicular have been so long. Best time to go is in the afternoon, staying to see dusk and the lights switch on. Loads of shops, cafes and restaurants, so you can spend 3-4 hours there easily.

The tram ride and view of Hong Kong Harbor are worth the half hour line. Can't believe this thing was built over a century ago. Luckily we got a clear day and you could see the entire Harbor.

It was overcast the day we went and I would highly recommend going early in the morning to avoid the crowds. It was about $40 for the ride up in the tram to the peak but we didn't go on be Skyline. A bunch of shops and a couple of spots for nice pics. I enjoyed the tram. We connected using the bus# 15 right outside to take us back to the Star Ferry. Very nove ident and cheap!

The weather in Hong Kong can change very fast. By the time we got from our hotel to the peak, clouds and fog covered the entire view. However, I really enjoyed the trip. We took star ferry to the central pier for $2 with octopus and got to the bus 15C by the pier #8 for about $4.7. This bus took us to the downhill where train starts. $75 for the round trip and terrace entrance. I am not 100% positive but bus 15 can take you all the way to the top of the hill so you can save time and money on train. Train ride was nothing special with long lines to buy a ticket and get to the train. I gues the peak could be great place for the light show in the evening.
