The hotel location is great. It is a 2-min walk to the Gold Coast Beach and a 5-min walk to the nearest plaza which has various places to dine (eg. McDonald's, Subway) and Watson. By taking the local bus and travelling 3 or 4 stops, you can arrive at a fish market which you can buy assorted live seafood and ask any of the nearby restaurants to cook it for you.

The hotel facilities are decent. It has basically a shop, a swimming pool, 3 restaurants and even a wedding banquet. The hotel itself is quite old, so the rooms are nothing special. The bed, though, is ridiculous since it is WAY too short. I am only 5'8 and my lower legs are air-born when i lie on the bed. We did find a small cockroach in our room but i assume it came from the outside as we left the balcony door open for quite a while.

As usual we travelled with our kids and they wanted a pool with water slides. Although in HK most of the hotels would have outdoor pools on their roof, we found only one hotel with water slides. The hotel had great promotion for families with kids called Summer waterworks vacation and they featured Flintstones characters at the hotel, special cartoon chanel in the rooms and water activities. Kids loved that as it was hot in August. The rooms were spacious and adequate, those facing the ocean side and pool are nicer in my view, than those facing the harbor. The Satay Inn restaurant is great with Singaporean and Malaysian delicacies. The prices in Satay Inn are quite reasonable, plus the hotel guests enjoy 15 percent discount.
Location wise it is not for business travellers but for family vocation is acceptable as it is located on the northen part and is sitting on the Golden coast beach. By taxi it takes 30-40 min drive to busy Kowloon shopping district and costs roughly 180 HKDollars.

My husband and I stayed in Hong Kong on a 2 night stop-over to break up a long haul flight from England back to Australia. The main focus of our stay was to find somewhere relaxing in order to catch up on much needed sleep and to soak up some warm weather! This hotel delivered on both those fronts and more. The hotel itself is spacious light, bright and airy, the rooms were very well appointed, the King sized bed was extremely comfortable and we had a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and nearby bay. The outdoor swimming pool was glorious, and we spent most of our stay lazing on the surrounding sun loungers, intermittently cooling off in its crystal clear waters. The buffet breakfast was one of the most impressive I’ve come across at a hotel, the variety of foods was amazing, including an on-site egg chef and an on-site sashimi chef. And after a week of stodgy English food I was delighted at the array of fresh fruit on offer.
It was also lovely to be able to eat both breakfast and lunch al-fresco and soak in the leafy surrounds.
I treated myself to both a facial and a massage at the hotel’s Day Spa and found both treatments to be extremely relaxing and effective.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to potential travellers looking for a top quality stay a little further out from the city centre.

Beautiful surroundings Easy to get to Hong Kong and China. Great staff food great. Nearby restaurants are also good.Being near the water and boats restfull and beautiful. Rooms are nice and if you shop through internet you can pick up package that is fairly priced.
Sometime price is higher (season) but can get good deal.Breakfast is great and try to get it included. Buffet breakfast eat inside or outside on beautiful grounds. Restfull and has great pool and other features for your comfort.
I have gone there many times and would go back.

We were lucky to find a great deal for this place that saved us almost 50% a night for a room with two double beds for 4 of us.

Positives: It was clean and the service staff were punctual and very helpful. Great surroundings and regular buses to and from different areas of HK.

Negatives: It is quite far from anything, so you really have to time yourself and make sure that you leave yourself enough time to catch the last bus back from the pickup area. We almost missed the last bus because it was almost too full to cater for everyone, luckily we were at the beginning of the line so we took the last 4 seats available. (buses are the small 20 seater). Food is also really expensive so we walked to the local shopping area and picked up some food and brough it back with us -- I'm sure the food would've tasted great but we just didn't have the budget for it.

Other than that, great place if you want to relax and get away from the main craziness that is HK. You have to try it at least once !

Room Tip: Try and find a room deal with this place as they are expensive for something that is quite far from the main town.
