“Good location, good value Hotel in Kowloon”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

Very conveniently located hotel in Kowloon, close to Mong Kok MTR station, Nathan Road shops etc.
Has 12:00 midday check out which suits late flights out of Hong Kong, and the hotel will allow you to leave your luggage at the hotel until pick up.
Serviced by a hotel shuttle from Airport direct to hotel, with a Hotel service desk at the Terminal.
If you choose to use the Airport Express - look for special deals - ie 3-day Airport Express return ticket with unlimited MTR travel during the 3 days, their is a K5 shuttle from Kowloon Station which drops outside the hotel.

Room Tip: most floors are non-smoking

I recently stayed at this property for several nights while traveling to Hong Kong for business. Overall, I was very pleased with the hotel and its amenities. Very comfortable and good-sized rooms. In-room internet is only wired (which proved a bit frustrating for an iPad user), though they offer free wireless internet in the lobby and restaurants. Breakfast buffet is incredible.
We stayed on the 5th floor, which while non-smoking was only one floor above a smoking floor. The trouble with this is seemingly shared ductwork which left our room (especially) the bathroom carrying a troubling smoke smell throughout the duration of the stay.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again, but would likely ask to be located further from a smoking floor.

Room Tip: If you're a non-smoker, be sure to get in the mid-level rooms, away from smoking floors.

Be warned if you are taxiing to and from this hotel, make sure you take one of their business cards, as most of the taxi drivers we had, had no idea where we were talking about, and twice took us to the wrong place!
Their shuttle bus from the hotel to the MTR (train station), and to Tsim Shua Sui (Star Ferry Terminal) was terrific, but good luck getting it back. The bus driver cannot sit and wait, he drives around the block once, and unless you jump out in the middle of the road the instant you see him, forget about it, get a taxi or train back!
The rooms are small to average, but very clean and quiet. We were very pleasantly surprised there was no noise.
Forget about the pool or gym if you are disabled or unable to walk up and down stairs, as you have to walk up two flights to get to it.
Buffet breakfast was included with our rooms, and it was average, but plenty to eat and fill you up for the day.
We found the staff to be very helpful, especially the Assistant Manager at the desk, who printed out maps etc for us to get where we wanted to go, and we also had her write down in Chinese, the names of some of the more obscure places we wanted to visit.
There is no wifi internet in the rooms, however, we managed to connect to someone elses??? each morning and night. The bar, restaurant and lobby have free wifi, so it wasn't too bad to just sit and have a drink and check up on anything you needed to.
All in all, this was a pretty reasonable place to stay.

The hotel is average, the rooms are a bit outdated, the bathrooms need a total makeover as they are still brown. Internet is only free in the lobby which is very annoying. The personnel was awfully arrogant and inefficient.
A plus is the pool on top of the roof as well as the small gym.
It is not so close to a subway station, like a 15 minute walk and therefore not that comfortable. In general, Kowloon is a cool and vibrant area and close to many sight seeing activities such as the ladies and night market or the sneakers street.

Great pool, good rooms, polite friendly staff. Tip: walk up to Mong Kok East Station it's a lot closer and it's direct for shopping in Shenzen. Walk around the streets for local food, cheap and tasty, with good variety. If you are going down to the markets bargain hard and you will not only have fun, if you smile while your at it, but your likely to get a bargain. Also the hotel has a free shuttle bus to Monk Kok station and down to the Tsm Sha Tsui station for the ferry and downtown.

Nice fairly comfortable room but wouldn't say its a 5 star..Pretty standard 3 star facility.
The Hotel is convenient as most things are short walk or cab ride around Hong Kong.

Make sure your driver goes to the correct Metropark Hotel as we were originally dropped off at same name sake hotel 10 minute cab ride away from Kowloon! Annoying!

WiFi in lobby only, seating limited. Can get umbrellas at main level too and we needed them. Main desk was helpful changing over some US cash for me.

Unfortunately we had two noisy nights in a row. We called security but they did nothing to calm folks down next to us. Why do some folks shout so loud rather than just speak calmly? We ate in a small diner a few doors down the street from Hotel for a very reasonable price vs eating the hotel buffet.

Only a few blocks to sneaker street, camera street so a shoppers paradise etc.Can grab clean but crowded subway down to Tsim Shaw Chui shopping too. Lots of restaurants very close by or just wander around enjoying the markets, lights at night etc...
.
We took 3rd party shuttle service to airport which was very good.

Room Tip: asked for adjoining rooms which we never got. Instead we got some noisey chatter box guest who we co...

Last time we visited Hong Kong, we stayed in YMCA at Salisbury Road. While the location is considered more upscale, it costs more and the room smaller. Metropark Kowloon is located in Mongkok, best known for its hustling and bustling. The room was good size, and service was cordial and friendly. The hotel shuttle to TsimShaTsui was pretty cool. While there was no WIFI in room (only ethernet), so we brought along a mini router (cost $20US), and voila the whole family got online.

Room Tip: Rooms on backside were quieter. If you want a peace and quiet place for coffee/conversation, there i...
