South Pacific Hotel

So this year is probably the eighth consecutive year I have come to stay in this hotel so that alone should tell its own story. I do try others in and around the area throughout my multi annual visits to Hong Kong but South Pacific tick more boxes than others It is conveniently located and relatively good value for money when you consider the location, accessibility, size of room, service and comfort. It also has a pretty good Shanghai restaurant in house. it is important to stress that "relative" is the key word to bear in mind here for this review and that i find this the best for the limited budget that I have.

I would definitely recommend the hotel for people staying in HK. It's walkable to the conference centre (about 15 minutes), and right next to Time Square. Tons of great food shops nearby. No problem with the rooms either: they weren't the newest, and the beds were pretty basic, but they were kept very clean. The room contains a locker for valuables. You might have problems in the bathroom if you're tall - the bath is raised, and the ceiling isn't high. Breakfast was good - plenty of variety, from cooked English to fresh fruit to cereals, yoghurt, and bread. But there are plenty of options nearby if you'd rather not pay extra. Wireless internet was fast, and free of charge (at least in the deal I got).

Hongkong and especially the area around Wan Chai and Causeway Bay is known for expensive hotel rates and usually small windowless rooms (or rooms without proper view). As such I was positively surprised when I went to stay at South Pacific Hotel for a one-night-trip to Hongkong. Rather spacious room (compared to e.g. JJ Hotel) and clean, neat look and feel. Service at lobby was fast and check out didn't take too much time.

It was really nice experience.
Since my first stay was at the North Point, I thought I could move two metro stations closer to central. Hotel is very well positioned ... trams and buses are under your nose.
My room was at the third floor and that would be the only drawback, because of the noise and street lights.(After all, the hotel is in the heart of Wanchai, so please, look for the upper floor rooms). Otherwise, everything else was OK. Staff - very proffesional but friendly.
When we speak about the money ... for a good deal try to book at least two month before the trip.
As I mentioned above ... nice experience.

With everything around in a walking distance, it was easy to explore the area anytime specially Times Square area where you can find anything you're looking for.
My room was more lik a suite so definitely no complains about the size...also having good internet connection everywhere in the hotel was a big advantage to me.

Situated very near Times Square, Hong Kong & good location; Clean & tidy; Room size is good for 2 adults + a young child, otherwise will be too cramp; Toilet seat is best as it is a bidet & comfortably warm as we stay during the winter. Best of all, there's FREE Wifi in the room ^-^

The location is very good - it's less than 10 minutes walk to metro station Causeway Bay. The staff is friendly. Wifi works well, no problem. Rooms aren't any wow-designs so don't expect that. But it doesn't matter if you don't live in hotel. Air conditioning works well too. Breakfast costs about 10 € - local food and western food, just okay but nothing special. All in all, nice experience!
