My travel agent recommended me to this hotel because it had a promotional room rate. So I stayed there and tried. The hotel is part of Grand Century Plaza, a 6 floor shopping mall. The ground level has access to Mongkok East MTR. If you wish to go to New Territories or China via train, this station is very convinient. However, if you wisht to take MTR to Mongkok, there is a walking distance. The walking is covered so no rain and no hot sun. The hotel has a nice facility. It has been newly remodeled. When we were there on Oct 1 (China's national holiday), the rooms were sold out and we were lucky. We got upgraded to a corner suite that has a dinning area, a living room and a big bedroom. Thanks Royal Plaza! The staff there were very friendly. Especially when they see family with children, they will bring out coloring books for the kids. They have several restaurants but we didn't try them out. It seemed pretty pricy when we checked the buffet dinner so we went onto the 3rd level of the shopping mall. From 7 am to 10 pm, you can try different kinds of food at the Food Opera. The Toast Box has big toast with peanut butter and milk tea and good coffee. Other options are dim sum, Thai, Shanghainess, Taiwanese, Hong Kong western style, simple noodles and congees, fruit juices,...My travel agent recommended me to this hotel because it had a promotional room rate. Many options and prices are reasonable. The only thing is, it is a cafeteria style so you have to grab your own table. It is a good option if you want something simple and inexpensive. There is a Japanese Market on the same floor. You can get your water and soft drinks there and also snack items. They have a pretty good bakery. If you want nice sitd own dinner, there are others on different levels. Just use the kioski for mall information. It is very easy to use. Shopping inside mall is for middle class local folks, no brand name like Gucci or Coach but the 3rd level are all for kids. 5th level has a store for kids and moms. I definitely will stay here again if the room rate continues to be in my range.More
