If you love indian railway stations the hotel reception will appeal crowded, dirty, no porters and little help available

we arrived by airport transfer no porters available and reception difficult to fine and a long hike from the drop off, joint entrance with shopping mall

hotel newly renovated generally to a high standard rooms on two top floors excellent

breakfast in very busy transit camp type cafeteris no service had to get ones own coffee and refils, not correct for these prices and claimed 5 star rating

Room Tip: the rooms are probably all good, it is everywhere else that lets the property down, maybe do more ho...

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and loved it. The location was very good, close to the rapid transit trains and connected to a huge shopping center. We took a hotel shuttle bus from the airport and back to the airport which was very convenient and the cost was just added onto our hotel bill.
The rooms are beautiful with every modern convenience. If I have any complaint, it is that the bed is quite firm, okay for me but my husband found it too hard.
We ate breakfast in the hotel every day, which was a great . It was priced decently for hotel guests, around $12.00 USD.

Stayed 4 nights and found the hotel well appointed and very comfortable for our family of 4 in a family room with a fantastic view over Hong Kong. As is the way of Asia, the beds are very firm which did impact some sleep quality.

Enjoyed the location as we could easily walk to local attractions via a number of exits and walkways etc. The MTR station is just downstairs but isn't on as convenient a train line. Will be better when the adjoining shopping centre refurb is complete. Shop, shop, shop, however it's very close to the ladies market, sneaker street etc. The pool looked great although we didn't get a chance to sample it with all the hectic sightseeing!

Royal Plaza is one of the rare family-friendly hotels, with rooms that are catered to families. We spent a week in a room with two double beds, which is spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel staff is quite friendly and efficient, which does not offer any pleasant surprise but neither does it provide any reason for complaints. The hotel, which is conveniently located just next to a train station and a bus terminus, also offers free shuttle service to its residents. Adjacent to the hotel is a big shopping mall with a large variety of shops and F&B outlets. Overall a very good hotel for its price.

Our family (2 adults and 3 older children) stayed in 2 rooms for 5 nights.
Our reception on arrival was rude and abrupt. (Ordered that I hand all 5 passports over, explained nothing about the rooms, no smiles, no "welcome to Hong Kong" , and when I queried why didn't we have adjoining rooms just got told , "they are on the same floor". ) Service from reception never improved - essentially just rude and unwelcoming. Similar abrupt service at pool and gym meant we didn't return to these areas. Similarly at checkout were told "just wait" as they needed someone to physically go and check our rooms.
Location is not relaxing. On weekends the hotel and surrounding area was packed with people which meant it was an ordeal just to step outside. Weekdays were busy but much more manageable.
Mongkok East Station is not ideal for travel to Central or harbourside locations - better to walk on elevated walkways to Mongkok (5 mins brisk walk).
Quality western style food options non existent in this area. Restaurant attached to hotel fine for breakfast but ridiculously expensive for lunch/dinner. We were not happy to use street vendors as quality of hygiene etc looked very poor. Mcdonalds/pizza hut not our thing! So ended up taking taxi to other areas for better meals.
Rooms were well appointed with high quality fixtures and very nice toiletries. USB charging ports were great as was fast efficient wifi. Beds very firm but comfortable. Nespresso machine was a nice touch - not in all rooms.
Housekeeping was excellent and these ladies were polite, non intrusive and always greeted you with a smile in the hallways - the reception staff and gym/pool staff could learn a lot from the manner of the housekeeping staff!
We used K5 shuttle and Airport Express for airport transfers - all very efficient and easy.
I would probably not stay here again on the basis of location and impersonal service. It is, nonetheless, quite good value for the size and high quality of the rooms. If we had one less child and could squeeze into one room it would be very good value, as there do not seem to be many hotel rooms in Hong Kong that can accommodate 4 in one room.

I was in Hong Kong for a conference & stayed in it with my wife and son. Its location was nice being close to waterfront & local markets; my wife & I enjoyed the large park/open space adjacent to it. Rooms were clean due to an apparent efficient housekeeping team which also kept the entire hotel clean at all times. Availability of of transport, both taxi & metro, was not a problem as was their shuttle service (at a charge) to the airport. Though the staff was generally helpful but lacked on their communication skills in English language considering the fact that Hong Kong has been a British colony for such a long time and is a major commercial hub in the region. Buffet breakfast offered variety but fell short on delivering the quality. The annoying experience had been the check-in & the check-out; I had to wait long due to long ques secondary to deciphering of the words being exchanged between the nonchinese guests and the reception staff.

Room Tip: don't ask for room towards the face of the hotel having entrances to avoid crowd cheers during t...

I stayed here for 4 nights by myself while meeting up with friends. I have to say, it was one of the best hotels I've been to. It was clean, clean and clean. Room service was great with friendly staff.

The hotel is 30 minutes away from the airport and only costs around $280HKD by taxi. Check-in was fast and easy. I was on level 16 and the floor had a very nice smell. When I entered the room, it was exactly like the pictures shown. The room was neat and clean and had a great view. They refilled all amenities every day. The hotel is right in the centre of Mongkok and connected to Grand Century Plaza and the MTR train.

I would definitely recommend this place to all family and friends and am willing to come back!
