have been staying at royal park since 1997. do a trip a year and in early 2000 sometimes 3 or 4 times a year. have always liked the hotel great location when it too hot out can go hang around in the malls attached to hotel. close to transit and mini bus from hotel takes me to brother in law place for 5 HK dollars. always take the royal package great value gives you meal and lots of extra things and bigger room up on quiet floors.

Room Tip: stay on upper floors 14 or 15 they are part of royal package rooms very nice

Decided to stay a little further out of the 'centre' of Hong Kong in order to get a bit more peace and quiet.
It was a really good decision, based on previous reviews of this hotel.
The location is excellent, less than 5 minutes walk (through a shopping mall) to the Sha Tin mtr station, which is only 2 stops to the Mtr line that connects you to the rest of hong kong.
The check in was smooth, although quite late at 3pm, so we left our luggage with concierge.
The room itself was clean, spacious (there was a sofa and desk area) and quiet, with a great view of the Sha Tin park (we were given a free upgrade to a lake view).
The bathroom was clean, spacious and tidy. However, my trying to reduce energy by hanging towels up resulted in fresh towels every day!

We only ate once in the hotels restaurants, at the Royal Park Chinese restaurant, for dim sum. It was nice, but nothing special and could be considered expensive compared to other places.
There was free wifi in the rooms, which was a bonus.

The shopping mall you walk through to get to the hotel has numerous shops, including a supermarket and restaurants.

The bed was huge (it was two singles put together, but we didn't feel the join in-between).
My only complaint is the feather pillows, which I don't like because they just go flat when you lie your head on them, regardless of how well filled they are.
There was a kettle and tea/coffee, flat screen tv, refrigerator and 2 bottles of complimentary water each day.

Overall a great choice if you are looking for somewhere to stay in hong kong.
All the staff speak good English and were very helpful

Room Tip: Get a lake view room, it's quieter and has great views.

I'm back to Royal Park again, and stayed there in 2 parts (where we went to Macau in between). I like this hotel because it is attached to a large mall (New Town Plaza), where you can get almost anything there, and that the rooms are bigger than most in the city areas of Kowloon or Hong Kong island. Before I went to Royal Park this time, I was wondering if they finally had free wifi access for their guests, and I was glad they they have finally done that. Many hotels these days have free wifi for their hotel guests. Also, the hotel rents out bikes if you would like to take a cycling trip around the Sha Tin park area.

My only gripe is that on my return trip after Macau, we were given a room where the toilet flushing piping was not done properly. After flushing, the feces somehow gets stuck somewhere along the drainage, and there would be a small drainage hole that is connected to the toilet flushing system, so a smell would emit from that drainage hole. I had to run the water from the bath tub for awhile to make sure things get drained away properly.

Stayed in hotel only for 1 night in early Jan 2014, and was quite impressed with how modern and nice rooms were.

Stayed in the executive rooms on level 18, and knowing space is a valuable thing in Hong Kong, was quite surprised to find the rooms quite spacious, great use of mirrors and lighting to really showcase the modern design of the room and hotel.

Bathroom was nice, very clean, room had a comfortable study table to work on, bed was great to sleep on..

Only reason why a rating of 4 was given instead of 5, was that checkin and check out took ages. Staying in many hotels around the world, this has to be by far the longest time I needed to wait around to checkin and check out.
Checkin at the counter took over 10 minutes, and check out earlier in the morning at 6.30am, took over 15 minutes. The issue is that hotel needs to call service staff to see if mini bar was used or if anything was broken in the room, which I don’t understand when you have already paid a bond and they have credit card details on hand anyways.
People in Hong Kong should know time is everything, and to have guests standing around and awaiting for something that seems so unnecessary

End of the day, overall stay was pleasant and I would stay here again, read reviews and said location poor, that is only for people don’t know how to use the walkway bridges.
Hotel is right ontop of Mong Kok East station for MTR, but if you want to go to central or more popular places, you just need to walk on the walk bridges to Mong Kok station where you can change trains to wherever. Walk is less than 5 minutes to Mong Kok station from hotel.

Reasonable price for a modern hotel with a comfortable stay, would recommend.

Room Tip: level 18 has the nice executive rooms worth staying in, very reasonable price for a hotel in hong ko...

Recently stayed two nights. First, know that the hotel is not convenient to Hong Kong island, Kowloon, or Tsim Sha Tsui, at least by walking. Taxis are plentiful, and the MTR (subway) has a station in the attached New World Centre.

As for the hotel, it is getting worn. A double-bedded room contains two twin beds, or a size slightly bigger. Certainly not American double bed size. The bed I had tilted slightly outward (the two beds were very close together). It was disconcerting.

Bathroom fixtures were in need of some fixing. The shower door did not close securely without more than normal effort. The television had terrible reception and very poor display. And the free wi-fi was sketchy at best. When I was able to connect, the connection only lasted for maybe 30 or 40 minutes before having to re-log in.

All in all, the room rate we paid was not reflected in the room and amenities.

Very clean decently sized rooms ( but very pricey - may be because we were here from Christmas to new year's eve) The hotel is beautifully located, opposite to city's one of the top end shopping complex (the New town plaza is connected internally to hotel and one need not cross the road- which has some of the best brands + restaurants)
Very well connected to MTR ( path leading to MTR from the hotel )
Sha Tin bus stand is exactly 3 mins walk from hotel ( you will find direct bus to Disney Land, Lantau, Ocean park) making it easy for one to reach back room in the night after a tiring long day.

Inside the hotel, very many restaurants offering different cuisine, but for veggies options were not many!

Room Tip: It is always a preferred option to go with break fast being included in the package ( saves time ear...

This is one of the best hotel with reasonable price. It is far from noise and crowd. Quite far from Hongkong Central Island but the place is quiet and perfect for honeymoon. You can really enjoy the great environment that surrounds the area.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a very quiet honeymoon, this hotel is perfect choice
