“Excellent hotel in Sha tin”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2012

I have to commend well on the excellent service and prompt response time during online booking

Takes around 45 - 60 minutes to reach by taxi from Hong Kong International Airport
Shuttle bus is also available for a fee by the hotel. Can also be reached by public bus.

Service was excellent and check in was smooth

Room are generally of good size, considering that most hotel rooms are small in Hong Kong

Located right next to New Town Plaza (which is huge shopping mall) - there is a connecting bridge to the mall without having to go outside. Bus and MTR station is nearby (within 5 minutes walk). The Sha Tin park is also nearby with excellent views of the river and nearby landscape. Food is easily available in surrounding areas.

Room is clean, good pillows comes with safe, wifi (depending on your room package), fridge, iron on request

Gym is small but adequate: located on the same floor as the swimming pool (which had an indoor and outdoor setting)

Free shuttle bus to Tsim Sha Tsui - but operates on a schedule (which is different for weekends and weekdays)

I traveled with my parents and sister in June 2012 to HK. We wanted to book a hotel in Sha Tin, as most of our family and friends lived in the New Territories and it would be handy to visit them in Tai Po, Sheung Shui etc. using the MTR line. Kowloon and HK Island were also easy to access too on the MTR the other direction.

We chose the Royal Park in particular because it was close (attached to) the the big shopping mall and MTR station. The other 2 large hotels in Sha Tin didn't seem as good locationwise.

We booked directly with the hotel as it turned out cheaper than booking with a travel website. We booked 2 standard rooms but were upgraded for free to rooms on a higher floor when we arrived, which was a bonus.

The hotel's Chinese restaurant was good but a bit pricey but there was a discount if you told them you were staying at the hotel.

Hotel easily accessible by taking the number A41 bus from the Airport direct to the front of the hotel.

Would stay there again definitely!

Highly recommended!

We stayed here for 2 weeks celebrating our 6-weeks-wedding- anniversary -vocation in Hong kong and side trip to some other countries in Asia. After taking a long flight from vancouver canada, we were very happy staying in this hotel.

Like-
-easy access to different modes of public transportation and is walking distance to the MTR Shatin station
-various famous tourist attractions and shopping malls close-by
-Wi-Fi and Broadband Internet Service, 24-hour Concierge,Laundry/Valet Service ,Baby-sitting Service,Currency Exchange
-free shuttle to city center (Tsimshatsui)
-clean and nicely decorated room,bathroom
-friendly and helpful staffs
-lots of restaurants only steps away (from cheap to expensive), few nice restaurants inside the hotel too
-big swimming pool and gyms

Dislike-
-if you go out late, they will lock all the side entrances and have to go to the street main entrance
-entrance is a bit hard to find and enter if you come from the mall

We will stay here again for our next trip back to asia /Hong Kong.

Room Tip: any will be fine

The hotel provides good and prompt services to the guest. Front desk services were efficient in handling checking in and out of hotel. The room has clean and cozy ambience and facilities.

The hotel was book online and did not include breakfast. The location is convienent as it is linked to Sha Tin MTR and New Town Shopping Centre. However, the surroundings are not attractive and hardly any nearby local eateries.

You need to take MTR to Mong Kok to enjoy bargain shopping. You also can take a direct line to shop.at Shen Zhen. Be warned that it might not be a pleasant shopping and tourist friendly place there.

Second visit to Royal Park Hotel in Shatin, New Territories and luckily given same disabled room on a non smoking floor as requested. Could not fault the service, maid service or adjustable airconditioned room in any way. We stayed for a whole month, so enjoyed the comfort of a large room . Having a huge showerhead with perfect water flow was sheer luxury. Soap quality very good plus all the other added shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, shower cap etc. to our liking. A wonderful plus is quietness. We honestly did not see another person in our corridor outside our room during the whole month of our stay , mid July to mid August 2012. The two single beds were large, firm, but most comfortable. A small fridge was a winner for us, perfect too to be given small bottled water daily complimentary. And we made excellent use of the supplied kettle for our tea and coffee given. Felt very safe and secure, pass key to room times two. Huge work bench and wardrobe space with many large drawers also.
Located very near to MTR (railway ), 5 minutes walk through busy 3rd floor corridors, teeming with people. As my husband is disabled he managed just fine with his walker and the Chinese people everywhere were so very helpful any way they could assist us. The shops are very abundant. We really loved the handiness of an excellent Chinese laundry just off Hilton Plaza, down an escalator to a laneway.
Royal Park Hotel provides a free shuttle 'bus into T.S.T., drop off at the Lippo Centre right at The Langham Hotel. The journey is most comfortable, duration roughly 30 to 35 mins according to traffic, pick up service on return to hotel as per timetable list.
Having stayed in Hong Kong on 4 occasions now, we just love the New Territories as it is so close to perfect places to visit such as the seaside fishing town of Sai Kung, marvellous atmosphere there, The Wetlands Park in the West of the N.T., reached easily by MTR to Hung Hom , change trains to the Western Line and proceed to the Light Rail, super service to the Wetlands Park , very enjoyable visit if you are a nature lover. At Diamond Hill again by MTR or no.89 'bus from right outside the Hotel !, we adored the meticulous gardens of Chi Lin Nunnery, lotus ponds, golden pagoda etc. If you are an art lover Chinese Art is wonderfully displayed at The Heritage Museum in Shatin very closeby the Hotel. Gosh! there is so much to see and do, our month's visit flew in too quickly. Do not miss a minibus trip from Fanling Railway Station to the ancient village closeby with all of it's walks and attractions. My husband was unable to do the scenic walks but it is recommended. Kadoorie Farm is a marvel to explore, has a great cafe there too, and a shuttle 'bus right to the top of Godess of Mercy Mountain where the views and serenity are to be experienced. Do travel to Grass Island by ferry from Ma Liu Shui ( look up Google for timetable and download the days and hours ). It is a working ferry , nil elaborate decor, but the views are worth the trip. Other places we as a couple in their seventies loved were Ma on Shan Waterfront Park, and a great 'bus journey to Yuen Long on a 64K 'bus from Tai Po (takes you to Kadoorie farm too ). We saw the real Hong Kong and hope to return next year all being well with our health.

I have a lot of family in Hong Kong and we decided not to stay with them this time round as we wanted a proper holiday!

This hotel was a recommendation from a friend and I am so glad we took the advice!

The rooms are spacious and very very clean, the bathroom lived up to the same standards!
The beds were very comfortable.
A decent sized flat screen which had many channels to watch (for UK readers, many SKY channels were available and for US readers, many CABLE channels available)

The wardrobe was big enough to store all my clothes from back home and more!
There was a safe in the room and AC which was not difficult to set up
They give you two pairs of slippers to roam around in.
They give you two bottles of water free every day, anything in the fridge was to be paid for.
The door has a peephole and a doorbell which I thought was different! Usually people would just bang on the doors.

Rooms were cleaned daily, towels changed daily and the maids were friendly as were all the hotel staff.
Always smiling, always more than willing to help with anything!

Royal Park Shatin is in a great location! It is connected to the shopping centre and Shatin train station.

My sister and I visited the pool once, mainly because we had a lot going on.
It was very clean and very peaceful there.
I think the Spa was not too far from the pool but we didnt book any treatments

In fact the hotel it self was peaceful despite being connected to the shopping centre.

Their restaurant was a buffet restaurant open to the public as well as guests that stayed in the hotel. We didnt eat there mainly because the shopping centre offered an extensive food court!

All in all, I throughly enjoyed my stay here and when we go back I would definitely stay in this hotel again and HAVE ALREADY recommended it to some family members :D

We enjoy our stay there. As usual, hotels in HK is super expensive and this is a great buy for the money. It is in the New Territory, a little bit far away from the city. It takes about half hour to go to downtown Kowloon.

Room Tip: You have to pay about US$50 more to stay in Kowloon Central hotel. I also recommend the Kimberley H...
