“Superb stay at HK”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

We stayed at Royal Pacific when we visit HK during the entire Holy Week (7days) since it's located at Canton Road (Luxury shop street) and the Macau Ferry terminal is just below Royal Pacific building. Honestly, if you have a budget of 9kphp up/night for the Empire Hotel, I would insist that you get the Royal Pacific Hotel instead. It's one of the nicest hotels there. We always get the Deluxe Harbor view (around 7kphp/night) 3 pax per room, 2 single beds (twins) with 1 couch (tip: sneak in is actually easy to do in this hotel, and they actually don't mind if it will just be 1 or 2) It's SUPER big, can accommodate actually up to 6 persons. That's why I don't get the idea of paying the room for only 3 pax. Although for the other smaller rooms (standard and premier), based on Tripadvisor, these rooms are somewhat small. I really have no idea as we have not tried those rooms. Get the seaside room for a more pleasant view. :) Shops are just right down this hotel. :)

You'll be even getting a "goodbye! have a safe trip!" memo from the hotel via the room's LED TV. :p

Location wise, if you're going to shop at Mongkok or Citygate outlet (a must shopping mall!) (via MTR TST station), Canton Road (Luxury shop St.), and going to ride a Macau ferry via Harbor, this hotel is much more convenient. Everything is accessible via walk (5-10 minute walk average).

Wifi is also strong, 4 of us can connect all at the same time.

The hotel does NOT provide shuttle service. Options are either the Airport Express something (train from airport, forgot the exact name), or cab. Cab meter rates and flag down are not far from Philippine rates

I guess that's it. :) Good luck in booking the most suitable hotel for your family! Have a nice trip! :) Enjoy!

Room Tip: We got the Pacific Grand (Tower Grandluxe) Room for family of 6. The room is SUPERB big for 3.

Stayed for a week on business. It was what I expected: clean, very attentive staff, good breakfast and effective a/c. But my room was small! There wasn't even a desk or table to work at and upgrading would have been very expensive.

The location is great for most facilities: ferry terminals, Canton Road, Temple Street, etc but I wouldn't have fitted in that room (1219, a Premier Plus grade in the tower wing) if accompanied by spouse. Good place but be sure you know what you're getting.

Room Tip: Check floor area at time of booking

A bunch of us stayed at this hotel last week. There are 2 wings, the tower wing and the hotel wing. We got the premier room at the tower wing. The rooms are very small, especially if you are sharing them with another person. Our luggage occupied whatever space there was beside the beds. It is not a big issue if you do not stay in the hotel room most of the time. The tower wing does not enjoy very good view and there is currently construction work going on on the ground level and the noise was rather intrusive. I think the hotel wing faces the sea and will have a better view. Other than the above, the sleep was not bad. Again, I have to emphasize that if you are going to be out and about often, the small room / bad view / noise pollution is not really a problem.

The toilet is quite old looking. The bath tub, which is cream in colour, has a layer of grey some parts of it. This is quite glaring and you would have second thought about taking a hot bath. I forgot to bring my shaver and to my surprise, it was not already in the bathroom. My request for a shaver was met promptly though.

The breakfast was pretty good. One good thing is that this hotel is situated in a good location. Close to MTR and eatery, as well as shopping outlet.

By the way, the TV has a paid channel for adult entertainment with probably a 30-second free preview. Travellers with young children may want to take note.

Room Tip: Premier rooms at the Tower wing are generally very small. Prone to noise pollution from construction...

Whenever we have more budget, we would always stay in Royal Pacific in TST. Very convenient location in Canton road. Very close to all the shops and restos. Sometimes you can get their promos for Pacific Club rooms which includes afternoon snacks in their lounge. This room gives you a nice view of Victoria Harbor. You can never go wrong with Royal Pacific Hotel.

Stayed with my wife for 4 days at this wonderful place. The best thing was its location as it is situated right over the ferry terminal to Macau and in the center of Kowloon. The breakfast and lunch spread was huge, the harbour view was excellent, the rooms were spacious (unlike what many other reviewers have written), great modern bathroom (I guess I was in the better wing),affordable rates, helpful staff.... Overall full marks!!

The only reason i have given one less star is because of the lack of indian food in their menu (we ate Singapore prata-curry for 3 days as a substitute).

Don't expect grand facade or lobby. But once inside your room, it's cozy, clean and bed is comfortable. Stayed in Premier plus room category - compact but cozy. Rooms were newly renovated as well. Location is the key thing. Right smack along Canton road in Tsim Sha Tsui, full of shopping malls and eateries. Airport shuttle service is available. For the price, it is very reasonable compared to other hotels along the same stretch. Free wifi in room for even usage of 2 devices. Land cable is also available. It's worth it. Good for business and leisure.

Rooms are extremely small but you won't be spending much time in the room anyway so it's not really an issue. Excellent location, close to mtr, shops, ferry terminal. Staff were very helpful. Very good value for money
