Came back to the Royal Garden after 30 years and was not disappointed.
Great room with great walk in shower in bathroom.
Great service from lovely staff who will be at your door for any problems.
Good location for shopping in Nathan Road.
Lovely walk to the Star Ferry for one of the best crossings in the world.
If you want to eat in the hotel 4 good restaurants to choose from.
Taxi from airport £22-£25
Hope it's not another 30 years till we return again.

Room Tip: 12/16 Great View

Stayed 12 days for business. Location is good, but I'd prefer to be further west in TST. Nice walk to harbour-front with good straight jogging to the east and double-deck Starbuck's to the west. One block away from MTR entrance (but once underground it's still a hike to the actual train). Variety of restaurants all around. Room size is large for HK and the bed & linens were comfortable. But the shower would stop up every few days & I'd have to notify the front desk to have it checked. Staff throughout (front desk, housekeeping, doormen) were pleasant & helpful. Daily buffet breakfast is average in comparison to other 5-star hotels in Asia. The pool was not open when I stayed and the gym facilities (which seemed temporary) were exceptionally poor (all under construction I think). Regardless, the pool & gym situation (which wasn't advertised on their website) was disappointing considering the price paid.

Though its a five star property but there is nothing swanky about it.
Its far from the madding crowd of the Golden Mile but still within walking distance of the happening TST. It has glass elevators which are a plus for people like me who hates closed spaces, and a nice atrium which serves buffet lunch/dinner and a decent buffet breakfast. Have partial harbor views from the rooms but the small park next door is a nice place to while away balmy HK evenings. And the buildings around the hotel as well as itself are most beautifully decorated every christmas.

Stayed on the recommendation of friends and we were pleased with our choice. Arrived on an early flight and we were able to check in at 9.30am. Good room with a view of the harbour and Hong Kong Island. Efficient and pleasant service. Extensive buffet breakfast. It is located a little further from the TST metro station than we thought, but a good location for the Kowloon waterfront.

In a pretty good location, lies this hotel in the heart of Kowloon.
I was given a room on the 4th floor, it looked clean and spacious, yet it smelled as thousand of cigarettes committed suicide and were buried under the carpet, 4th floor overlooks the indoor massive restaurant, which in return grants you an unpleasant smell sometimes.
They offered nothing but a spray that worsened the situation.
Breakfast was good, with various items to choose from.

Room Tip: Pick rooms from the 7th floor up.

I am currently staying at this hotel. I booked a premier room with executive lounge access but during the time of check in I was given the basic room which was stinking. They assured me that it was a premier room until I found their fraud.
The executive lounge staff is shrude and very bias. It seems they're doing a big favor serving complimentary cocktails and appetizers at this lounge to us whereas they never say a word to their British guests. I have a made a big mistake choosing this hotel for my honeymoon.

Just spent aweek at the Royal Garden during thnbe Chinese new year .Loved the hotel and the facilities but ran into a problem with the inroom fridge. After storing our drinks, milk etc after a day and a half it was quite obvious the "toy" fridge had passed its use by date and the contents were better outside than in it

I complained and would you believe the management considered it was ok and we would have to make it do. I promptly reminded them that it was not good enough for 5 Star and hotel and demanded a full refund of the balance of my accomodation costs. A new fridge was delivered in 10 minutes

Other than that the hotel is of high standard but the little extras were missing - one small soap per day per couple is a cost cutting example

our travelling friends also had fridge promlem -seems hotel likes cost cutting in the wrong areas

Room Tip: Check the fridge if you are there for a holiday
