It was my 2nd stay at this hotel while in Hong Kong on business.
They completed renovations last year and it is a much better place now.
Breakfast buffet is great (their Belgian waffles are better than in Belgium).
The staff is very attentive.
Since it's one block away from the waterfront it's a bit cheaper than neighboring hotels.
Hotel restaurants, are pricey, though.

Never ever heard of the Hotel before a local colleague booked it for me. Although I have been to Hong Kong many times.

A very pleasant and easy check in process and a pleasant surpise to be upgraded on check-in due to an exhibition later in the week. I was in town for 5 days on business before heading off to Taiwan.

Breakfast was a massive buffet with your choice of many different continents and tastes. Had Room Service on one night whihc was first rate.

The only down side was refurbishment on the Ground Floor, which meant the Bar was closed, so it was difficult to track down the temporay one which seemed to move location each day, also as it was temporary could not find a quite corner to discuss the outocme of each day and our plans for the next with colleagues.

Overall it was still a pleasant experience with teh bed in the room being first rate and the Free WiFi in the room being the best quality I have ever come across. could go on Skype to colleagues back in the UK with a better quality than if we tried to do the same between two UK offices.

Room Tip: Make sure you set the Air Con Correctly, it was like a freezer when I walked in to the room each day...

this hotel I stayed was in the prime location. just next to the shangri la hotel. the location could never go wrong. however the hotel itself was a bit outdated. the rooms was roomy but the decoration is just seems a bit too wore. the price is not very high indeed so maybe I would revisit next time I come with a tight budget.

Have not stayed in this hotel for a number of years and due to last minute changes to my schedule I had occassion to visit again
Much is unchanged but all the rooms have been remodelled as has the executive floor bar and breakfast area
I was pleasantly surprised to find many of the staff were unchanged and they welcomed me like a long lost friend.
Some remodelling works continue but the hotel is retaining the same hiogh standards I remembered with friendly and attentive staff, good sized rooms with good views over Hong Kong harbour. Rooms are well equipped and very clean with all services you would expect from a good quality hotel
The location is excellent giving good access to all attractions and shops ( a known HK attraction)
Would recommend that you book in advance as this hotel is exceptionally busy and also ask for a harbour view room
One other thing worth a try is the rooftop swimming pool

Room Tip: Book early and ask for Harbour View

I stayed at this hotel for 8 nights in a club room. The room was clean with great views of the harbour. As we had a club room we where able to use the club lounge which provided snacks and free drinks including champagne in the evenings, which where served by friendly staff who served the drinks very efficiently, sometimes even before my champaign glass was empty :). Tony one member of staff was particularly good and always welcomed us each evening. The pool on the rooftop was nice and provided somewhere to relax and enjoy some sun. We also used the gym which was well equiped. There are numerous restaurants on the ground floor and an excellent hotel bar with singers of an evening. Are room included breakfast which was excellent with lots of choice. This hotel is great value for money. I will definately stay here again.

Everything was wonderful as you would expect from this chain. We got the deal on Agoda and paid £125 per night so were delighted.

The Hotel was very well appointed - the usual rip off prices applied in the Bar so we went elsewhere for drink ( why do they do this )

However when we asked for late check out of 1 hour they insisted we leave at exactly 12 noon or face charges which is really irritating for an International 5 Star. We asked for a quiet area to sit as I was feeling a little rough and they showed us the reception. Nice!!!!

Anyway other than that minor irritation all was great.

Room Tip: wait until the last minute and snag yourself a bargain room rate.

Hi Friends,

We stayed at this hotel during our first visit to hong kong. My booking was done at a very reasonable price (got a deal) but now the hotel has becomes quite pricey. We were happy with our stay. The pros and cons below :

Pros

1) Excellent location. Close to everything.
2) Good room size and layout. Very modern
3) A very happening hotel with a lot of activity all the time.
4) For Veggies, Resturant Woodlands is just a few mins by walk. Perfect
5) Starbucks on the opposite side. Great for late night coffee
6) Partial harbour view
7) Excellent roof top pool

Cons

1) Limited food choice for vegetrarians
2) Rooms are 2.5 to 3 times the price they were a couple of years back
3) The reception staff just follow the rule books. No special requests entertained

Overall, a good option to stay. Look for deals on HK hotels specific website. However with so many lovely options in HK this is NOT it.

Happy Travelling
Gautam

Room Tip: Rooms that have a partial harbour view
