This was our second stay at the Ramada, nothing has changed here for the last 5 years. It is very tired and stuck in the 70's, the decor is awful and the hotel has an unpleasant musty smell, carpets that are this old will always smell. The staff are very efficient and helpful, it is unfortunate that they have to work in these surroundings and they all deserve to be hired by a better Hotel. We were upgraded to Deluxe rooms when i contacted them and expressed my concerns after reading recent Tripadvisor comments. Thank goodness we were upgraded, i can't imagine what the standard rooms look like? The linen and bathrooms were clean and the location is good, staff helpfl. But i won't return.

We arrived at the airport without booking a hotel. The travel guides said it was easy to find a hotel for a few nights at the airport hotel desk. Well it wasn't - so first advice: book any hotel up front!

Finding a hotel for 2 nights, 2 rooms was a problem (unless you'd go for the top of the range and there the standard rooms were occupied as well). The airport hotel desk was helpful, but stressed. We made several local calls on the nearby phone to other hotels that don't 'subscribe' to the airport desk, to no avail. So we booked the Ramada Hotel in Kowloon.

The trip by airport bus is easy, cheap and almost as quick as a taxi - so definite recommendable!!

Check in was good, taking the small elevator to the room made us feel a bit uneasy. At the floor, the corridors were small and dimly lit, as were the rooms. The furniture had much wear, as did the bathroom, but they were clean. The beds were hard, but we made do for 2 nights only. In one room we had problems with the bath, which the staff couldn't get fixed in time before departure. Luckily we had another ... so the bath/shower was shared by four, thank god for the connecting door. The fact the rooms were small was emphasized by the dark windows (covered with film I guess). The light inside was dark, making it necessary to turn on lights. Kind of a gloomy feel, that's the impression we still have. Noise from the other rooms was available, a smoke free room (due to the law abiding chinese?) smelt of smoke. Opening the windows was impossible.

The breakfast (small buffet) wasn't that varied or large, but sufficient for a start. Location is very good: that's why we choose Tsim Tsa Tsui in Kowloon. Everything was nearby (shops, restaurants, ..) and with a nice walk, even the night market was reachable (HK is safe at night!). Check out was OK, they kept the luggage behind lock, free of charge.

All in all, I'd say the Ramada doesn't live up to its name. A renovation is urgently due, bringing this hotel from the 1960's to the next century. The price isn't that cheap to offset the minus ... Finally aan "average" instead of a "poor" because of the staff, which wants to help (although the plumbing, electricity, lighting, hard beds, and so on lets them down).

We stayed at the Ramada for 6 nights in may it is a very shabby hotel with very small rooms ,we had been promised by Flight Centre Sunnybank that we would have adjoining rooms but that didn't happen and our friends were put in a smoking room which smelt .the only thing going for it is the breakfast and it is close to every thing, that was only one of the stuff ups that Flight Centre Sunnybank made but I won't list them all the most diappointing thing is that my husband wrote to Flight Centre and they haven't even had the courtesy to reply,I suppose they realise that we won't book through them so don't care.We would like to thank Wendy Wu Tours for a most enjoyable trip to Beijing and especially our guide Maggie ,she was so friendly and made our trip a great experience and I would also like to mention The Kung Fu Show at The Red Theater ,one of the most exciting shows I have ever seen ,Thank you Maggie and Wendy Wu tours for saving our 50th wedding Anniversary Trip for us Barbara Shennan

Ramada Kowloon is located corner Chatham road in the Tsim Tsa Tsui area...good location because it is very near the CHEAP outlet stores. VERY SMALL rooms, quite hard beds..small bathroom and corridor...but clean!! Service is good. Nice front office staff. Buffet breakfast has limited selection but enough to fill one's appetite. Since we are gone the whole day, it is just ok for us.. one funny thing is that the sink makes a gurgling sound...weird. One standard room can only accommodate 2 people...no extra bed because of the small room size...but over all.. Nice hotel.. Small but clean!!!

A bit expensive, but located on the main street, close to main amenities (bus stop right out side, train station just around the corner and a taxi bay just behind. Near ATMs and Forex dealers).
Breakfast included was great - nice eggs and mushrooms. Free wi-fi in the lobby and very helpful staff, who even allowed late checkout without additional charges.
For business trips, this place is ideal as it has clean, comfortable beds and facilities, with a restaurant. I stayed for a whole week and although small, enjoyed it.

Room Tip: Request for rooms facing the harbour and those that are higher up - no noise and you won't be fa...

Currently staying here for the trade shows - beds are like rocks, when twice asked for another room or mattress replaced all we were given is more thin donnas to lay on. Third night without a good nights sleep. Tiniest room I have ever stayed in including Europe. Terribly over priced. TV broken. No facilities. Definitely will never stay here or any other hotel in the Ramada chain. Would never recommend this place to any colleagues coming to Hong Kong for trade shows in the future.

Stayed at the Ramada Kowloon in March. The lift was very small but the room was clean and tidy. Twin beds are able to be put together for a king bed. Keep in mind that the quilt is for a single bed. also the bed was very hard.. The hotel is about a 4-5 minute walk from the MTR. Some good restaurants around. Was good value with breakfast.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the road are noisy.
