Not the best hotel I've stayed at, but for budget stay this is not bad. The rooms though were pretty awful. Small, cold, with white washed walls and nothing on them. Just a room with two beds and other hotel furniture but no comfort in any of it.
Although, we only came to the hotel to sleep because there was so much to see in HK. Cant complain, but if you are staying in HK longer I suggest you get a better more comfortable hotel. Perfect location of the hotel, right at the metro station.

I stayed at Prudential Hotel in my recent trip to Hong Kong. However, it only has one plus point which is its location. It is directly linked to Jordan MRT station so it is sheltered all the way. However, if you are out before 10 am in the morning and come back after 10 pm, the escalators in Prudential Centre, leading to Prudential hotel is switched off. It means one has to climb 3 flights of stairs after a long tiring day. After the 3 flights of escalators, you turn left and you would see the concierge of Prudential Hotel. They would be able to help you up to the lobby level with your luggage as the lift is not accessible to the public. The escalators from the concierge to hotel lobby is extremely narrow. Large luggage would definitely have a problem. The staff wasn't very friendly but check in was quick and efficient.

I spent a couple of nights at the Prudential Hotel. It is conveniently located right above the Jordan MTR station above a shopping mall. The biggest drawback was dragging suitcases up 4 escalators from the subway, but one didn't need to step outside during inclement weather. The hotel is right on Nathan Road amongst a bustling community of shops and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable although not extremely luxurious. They offer a decent breakfast buffet (I paid extra but some booking agencies might include it in the room rate). At a price of about $150 (CDN) per night, it is a very reasonably priced hotel with good amenities.

Spacious room with a huge couch. Location is central, walking distance to MTR and lotsa places. However on my last day, while retrieving my valuables and passport from the safe, it got stuck. Had to call them twice to come fix it. Took around half-an-hour to open the safe, yet they say that our stuff made it can't open. It was some money and passports which can't fill up and block the safe. Nevertheless, i like its room and location.

The Prudential Hotel is fantastically located in Kowloon, near Jordan metro line and within a few minutes walking distance of the Temple Street Night Market. You can walk all the way from the hotel down Nathan Road to Hong Kong Harbour and enjoy the shopping on the way.

Lobby looks great - but is strangely not on ground floor so you have to drag luggage up an escalator - 2 actually (hotel sits on top of a multi-story shopping centre). Check in was a bit of a wait as there was a queue, but the staff are pleasant and efficient. Rooms are really large, loads of space. Huge bed, nice linens. The bathroom towels and products were miserable though. The bathroom could have done with some updating and the towels were small and rough.

Complimentary water was provided and each morning an English language newspaper was left in a bag on our door - this was a nice touch.

Didn't have breakfast, so could't comment on that. We thought about having a drink in the hotel one evening after a lot of walking but there was only a tiny bar - unstaffed, or so it seemed, and no customers so it didn't seem enticing. There are many many bars and restaurants nearby anyway.

I'm truly amazed at how many complaints that I read on Tripadvisor before arriving with my group at the Prudential Hotel in Hong Kong! But my many, many fears were all unfounded!

We found the staff at the hotel to be exceptional and friendly. I am a travel agent and had booked through the hotel's group coordinator (Suflan--I hope that's correct). He was at the desk when we checked in early and was most accommodating. Since we had arrived very early, we decided to take the Singapore River Cruise while waiting for our rooms--and amazing that the group coordinator phoned us to keep us updated on when our rooms would be available. The escalator can be a problem in getting luggage upstairs from the ground floor, but the bell desk can arrange delivery. We used that service and were very impressed with how efficient they were. In the great scheme of travel expenses, a few dollars for the convenience of delivery to the room is nothing!

Have also read complaints abut the buffet breakfast. Not so from my group! We found the (included) buffet breakfast to be amazing! I had read that it can get crowded later in the morning, so we all arrived at opening. In my more than 20 years of organizing groups (and hotels with buffet breakfasts) we found this to be up there with the very best. Can I remember all of the choices we had? Absolutely not! Let's try: yogurts (many flavors), machine that created various coffee drinks (capacchino, espresso, etc.), omelette station (freshly prepared eggs--any way wanted them!). Fresh fruits including pineapple, watermelon, honeydew melon, and cantaloupe. Make your own toast (from various types of breads). Hash browns, bacon, sausage, and even a machine that turned out fresh pancakes (just push the button and wait a minute). Would you like a crousant or apple-filled pastry? Take as many as you'd like. In addition there was an amazing variety of Chinese breakfast items (most that we could not identify)! Fresh juices? Yes--perhaps six varieties! We usually spent about 1 1/2 hours enjoying the breakfast in their dining room (very pleasant atmosphere--and we were NEVER rushed!). Only breakfast buffet that rivaled this one was in a rather expensive hotel in Stockholm, Sweden.

Our standard room was large enough and was very clean. "Extras" even included a toothbrush and toothpaste. Have read complaints about room size. We were more than satisfied. Maybe every view from every room wasn't the best, but how would that ever be possible--no matter where you stayed?

Location--absolutely the best! Ask anyone for help on how to get somewhere and they were very accommodating. And there is a tour desk in the main lobby. Some complain that the hotel is on a side street, but just remember the name on one of the large neon signs on the main street, and you'll always remember where to turn to get back to the hotel--that's pretty simple!

How was the bell desk? Great! They held our luggage prior to our departure and everything was secured until we returned.

I write this review mainly to come to the defense of the Prudential Hotel. Greet them with a smile and i truly believe that they will do the same! And if you can't overlook the small flaws (no matter where you are staying), then it's probably time to stay home.

By the way, the hotel has a reasonable Happy Hour each day (2 for 1 drinks) in the lobby bar, and my group gave the hotel great reviews for dinner food in their dining room!

Would I return to the Prudential? Definitely!

Thanks, Prudential! One and all!

Room Tip: I would only advise that you include the buffet breakfast in your room rate (as long as you enjoy mo...

Very conveniently located. Links direct to the Jordan MTR. Room is big enough - rare for Hong Kong hotels at this price. Staff is friendly & helpful. Room is clean. Only 'bad' experience is that the main lobby is not on ground floor, so you have to lug the luggages up 2 flights of escalator. And the main entrance is from a side road, which we missed on 1st arrival.
