“Perfect Location”
Reviewed May 6, 2007

Not much to add to all the other reviews.

For me, hotels are all about location. Ultimately, you dont spend half your holiday in the hotel.

This hotel has an ideal location. Near to all the local markets, and on top of a large shopping mall. Also right on top of an MTR station- from the time you leave your room, it is c 25 m ins by MTR to the island.

Have seen some comments about the size of the rooms- I stayed in a normal one. I was on my own and the room was perfect. Even if sharing, should be fine unless planning to spend a long time in the room itself.

The bed and pillows are so comfy- perfect for sleeping off jetlag.

I dont normally use or notice hotel staff. All the employees at the hotel were amazing. All smiling and wanted to help. Asked the concierge a question about being able to check in for my flight at the train station. Within 2 mins he had phoned the station and had the answer. Also so helpful with questions about itineries.

The hotel also does a good cocktail nite every thursday between 6 and 8- free to residents.

Recommend the hotel bar's happy hour between 6 and 8 (I think). They dont skimp on the measures.

Downsides? If you like a lot of fresh fruit for breakfast, you will be disappointed- mainly tinned fruit. But the omelettes were good

Location wise, for mixing with locals and easy accessibility to the main tourist sites, this is the hotel for you. If you want to spend your time clubbing and getting pissed, stay on the island (please!).

Great location for exploring Kowloon and useful to be so close to shops and food outlets in the Langham Place Mall as well as Mong Kok MTR. Room was quite luxurious with LCD TV screen and good quality bathroom. A good base for getting around Hong Kong.

Wow, where to begin ?

We stayed for four nights in a Langham Suite and our final night in the Chuan Infinity Suite, each with access to the Langham Hotel Club executive facility.

Firstly the rooms. The Langham Suite was lovely. It has a large lounge and fully equipped kitchenette. The super-king bed is incredibly comfortable and the bathroom has a separate bath and excellent shower. As mentioned in other reviews it also has a glass wall to the bedroom, with mechanised screens. The room also has large flat screen TVs and dvd players in lounge and bedroom, wireless broadband and floor to ceiling windows overlooking Kowloon.

The Chuan Infinity Suite is something else. It is incredibly luxurious. The whole room is done immaculately in dark wood and again has two large TVs, internet etc. and also console controlled ambient lighting and music. The real attraction of this room though is the bathroom. It contains a lovely infinity bath with hydrotherapy and chromotherapy, plus separate toilet, shower room and steam room ! The photos on the web site do not do it justice.

The service that we received from the hotel and the club facility was amazing. They were incredibly friendly and brought out special vegetarian food for my wife every evening that we were there. One of the waiters even took a trip out to a local market to buy a whole range of vegetarian meat substitute dishes and served this to us one evening with a range of vegetables. In every respect, the staff went above and beyond the call of duty.

The spa and the treatments were amazing too – highly recommended.

The location of the hotel on Kowloon is fine. It is very close to the city MTR underground system (depending on how you navigate the journey) meaning that you can quickly get to most places in the city. It is also on the doorstep of the more traditional markets too.

All in all, I cannot recommend the Langham Place hotel highly enough. I honestly don’t think I can find anything to improve on.

One of my favourite hotels I have ever stayed in (if not the favourite!).

Service is fabulous.

We had an executive room which had an amazing view across Hong Kong. The (large) bed was covered in pillows and we had fun ordering extra lavender and rose pillows from the pillow menu. The bathroom is glass walled with a blind so you can see directly out to the views. The down side of this is having to put the blind down if you want a bit of privacy in the bathroom within the room.

TV was flat screen, came with DVD player that took multi region DVDs. The hotel is not longer suppling DVDs as it want you to watch pay for view movies so bring your own.

The lobby and bar is beautiful and one of the hotel restaurants serves an amazing buffet although I thought the restaurant a bit too large and open to the shopping mall to have much atmosphere.

The rooftop pool and spa is beautiful and the massage was very welcome after a long flight. Its is a bit on the expensive side but then this is Hong Kong.

  • Liked — spa and pillow menu
  • Disliked — DVD player but they don't supply DVDs

Let me start off by saying I have been going to HK for almost 20 years. I have stayed at the Regent (Now the intercontinental), the Harbour Plaza(s), as well as the Sheraton, Nikko, Shangri La, and a few others.

This hotel is located in Mong Kok which is 3 stops from Tsim Sha Tsui (waterfront area) on the MTR (Subway).

Side note - The best way to get around HK is using the MTR. It's clean, safe, and super effecient. Takes a little getting used too but the transit authority has made it so user friendly that you wont want to move around HK any other way.

I have always been partial to the Harbour Plaza because it was Regent Quality & Service at Sheraton prices. Please see my last review on the Harbour Plaza and why I went in search of a new hotel and I am so glad I did.

If your a first time visitor to HK I do NOT reccomend you stay here only because I firmly belive there is nothing more spectacular then a Harbour View room in Hong Kong. There is nothing more spectacular then waking up and seeing the busting Victoria Harbour.

That said this hotel is perfect for every stay after your first.

The service is second to non in all of HK. From the second you arrive to till you leave the staff is there to please.

For the first two nights I stayed in a standard room. The room is fine. The only knock is the bed is very firm but not "Chinese" firm so its livable.

The first night I ordered room service. I wasnt that hungry so i ordered an appitizer. The app was HUGE. I couldnt even finish it.

The next 3 nights I stayed in an executive suite and I have to tell you that it was one of the best suites I ever stayed in. Nice living room with a full kitchen, (who knew they even existed in HK?!?!?). Awesome shower and bathroom plus fantastic flat screen plazmas in every room (2 in the suites).

Wireless internet was a great plus!

The added value of breakfast, snacks, and drinks on the exec level club is well worth it. Every morning I had breakfast (made to order eggs!!) on the exec level, followed by afternoon snacks, and night caps. The view from the exec lounge is awesome. Since this is one of the taller hotels in HK you really get a cool birds eye view of the Mong Kok.

Not interested in Hotel food, take the enclosed walk way to the Langham Place shopping center (off the lobby) and when you enter the mall you will see at least 10 resturants too choose from plus Starbuck and little gourmet shops. The mall is nice to walk around, plus you can get to the MTR without every having to go outside!!.

The hotel is almost 4 years old, but the staff acts like its brand new and try so hard to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. I really enjoyed my stay here and looked forward to coming back to my room each day/night. A great example of the service is during my first two nights I stayed in a standard room on the 8 floor, my next 3 nights I was on the 38th floor. The response time to my requests were identical.

Oh I almost forgot!! Each room is equipped with the S.M.A.R.T. Phone. In most hotels you have to dial a certain extension to reach a certain department such as room service or bell hop. At the Langham Place, all you do is press 0 (zero) and the person that answers takes care of everything for you from room service, housekeeping, bell hop, resevations, anything. Its having the concierge at your beck and call with the push of one button.

You dont realize how awesome that is until you have it.

Great hotel, great location, great food, great service...great great great great!!

I will not stay anywhere else in HK!!!!

This is the best choice if going to Hong Kong. It is in Kowloon but there is a mtr station across the street which gets you to Hong Kong island in about 10 minutes. The food is amazing and the service is top-notch. The rooms are beautiful and appointed with every detail imaginable. The gym and pool are on the roof top and better than any other I have seen (and I have seen some of the best) Go to the portal restaurant for great burgers, drinks, etc.. The Chinese restaurant in the hotel is excellent. Also has a Starbucks in the lobby connection bridge.

From the moment we arrived at the Langham Place hotel at 0730 in the morning the standard of service was set. We were happily granted an early check-in and speedily sent up to our delightful room that had extensive views over the city. The quality of all the fittings and ammenities was excellent and we were able to begin the process of making the most of our 3 night stay in Hong Kong.
The hotel staff were very helpful with directions and booking tours. We enjoyed the nearby markets, particularly the "goldfish market". The location is great and arrival and departure by train was easy. Overall this was a perfect start to our world trip, due in no small part to the efforts of the hotel and its staff.
