When I arrived at the hotel i was a bit disappointed by the outside, the concierge staff are very polite and were helpful throughout my stay whenever I had any questions and would always tell me both the cheapest and most convenient way to get to where I wanted to go. The reception staff were very blunt and abrupt and nowhere near as helpful as the concierge.
My hotel room was small but very clean and had a wonderful view over the harbour. The bathroom was absolutely tiny.
I ate in the hotel but found that the food was nothing to rave about and quite expensive.
The pool is small and disappointing and if you like to sunbathe it is virtually entirely shaded unless you are actually in the pool.
The hotel is in the western district of central, but you can use the tram or bus which is very cheap and only a couple of minutes to the ferry and central district, I actually liked to walk and look at all the smelly shops! It only takes about 20 minutes to walk from the Star Ferry and you pass loads of shops where you can get plenty of drinks and stuff cheaper than the hotel!
The only thing really negative that I have to say is that the air con is really really noisy so I had to turn it off at night, luckily it was not particularly warm when I was there but I imagine if you were there when it was then it would be really annoying!
Other than that a very enjoyable stay and I would recommend it.

This hotel is to the west of central Hong Kong Island, but right on the tram line and there are frequent buses going almost past the front door. The trams are a little slower, but very easy to use (just pay $2 on the way off) and since the tram line is just a single line very easy to get your bearings on. A taxi from the hotel into the centre of the city is about $25 (under 2.50 GB Pounds). Don't let the fact the hotel isn't right in the centre put you off at all.

The area around it is known for its dried sea food. It is a little smelly when you walk past the shops, but then if that bothers you then stay in America or wherever. We've travelled a fair bit in Asia and think that apart from the traffic fumes sometimes, Hong Kong is a pretty clean city and the area around the hotel is no exception. Obviously, some people turn their noses up at some of the sights in Asia (well, anywhere outside the US) but again, they should stay at home. This is a pretty clean area.

One complaint we did have was that we were booked into a triple room, and they gave us a double with a third bed squeezed in up against the bedside table. We complained that it wasn't a triple room, and they moved us to an executive room on the top (29th) floor. This also was only really a double, but even with a third bed taking the place of the sofa was plenty big enough and we were satisfied with it. They also gave us a complementary breakfast each for our trouble. The normal rooms were smallish, but the executive room was fine, don't know what the price difference is. How long do you spend in the room anyway?

The hotel in general was fine. Clean, friendly, staff not too over the top in your face falling at your feet trying to help you (again, some people like that, we find it nauseating). Apart from the rooms not really being triples, we had no complaints at all and would recommend this hotel completely.

Oh, never went to the bar so didn't see most of the prices, but cans of coke were $36 compared to $5 in the shop next door, but that probably compares to other hotels around.

Our top tip for Hong Kong is to get an Octopus Card to pay on the transport, saves queuing or keeping change for the trams and buses. Can also use it in some shops and to buy beer at the races!

Yes this hotel is out of the way, but that worked for us, it was so great to get away from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong and Kowloon, and get back to an area that felt like that way it should be.

The hotel service was fanastic, we arrived at 10am, not expecting to be able to check in at that time, was told we could move into our room in one hour after it had been cleaned. We were also given a late check out free of charge till 4pm which helped with our midnight departure flight. We even were allowed to shower and change using the pool facilities before we left for the airport. The hotel staff couldn't do enough for us.

We caught the A11 bus using our Octopus card to/from the airport for HK$40, takes around 35-40 mins, which stops on Connaught Rd West, a short walk from the hotel. You can also catch the A10 or A12 for HK$48.

Local transport is cheap, and it is a 15-20 min walk to the Star Ferry pier. And yes the hotel is surrounded mainly by dried seafood markets, but we found a great cafe for breakfast called Cafe Helsinki on Connaught Rd West, a great hairdresser where I had my hair cut and coloured, an Indian Restaurant, cake shop. The area is full of great surprises, in fact it was the best part of the whole island.

I will not be returning to HK as a tourist, but if I had to consider a stopover in HK we would stay here again.

An average 3 stars hotel that match its rating.
When first arrived ,first impression was not that good on the hotel's surrounding .Did not feel like i am on holidays(old shophouses selling dried seafoods).Arrived 1 hr ahead of chk-in time ,i was told to come back an hr later as the room was not ready yet .Upon check-in i was given a room at 11th flr with a limited 30 degrees side view of victoria harbour and a TV betrofitted to cabinet which i need to turn my head 45 degrees to watch it as the bed was located parellal of the cabinet.(minor issue actually as not there to watch TV & seaview all day).

Throughout the 3 days of staying there, i found out that the transport network from point A to B was quite good dispite the hotel is located on the western end of hong kong island .There are plenty of options available from trams (hk $2 per trip), buses (hk $3.40), taxi (hk $20) and shuttle services (free) to shang wan MTR which is only 15 mins away from walking.

My personal opinion -This hotel will fit well for those on budget and on business trip but not for those for a relaxing holidays and honeymoon.

This large hotel is located just on the side of Victoria Harbor in the middle of dried seafood street. We got a great deal for a week stay on Expedia and we were really worried when the cab driver dropped us off because the area smells like the street name, but the hotel is very professional and classy. The room was small, but it had large window wall with a view of Victoria Harbor. The hotel staff spoke English and were very helpful. Everyplace you want to go is just a short tram-ride away, and each ride costs the equivalent of 20 cents. The tram-stop closest to the hotel is just around the corner. The trams have open windows, which lets the breeze come in on hot days, and they're an excellent way to tour the city. I would not recommend paying more money to stay closer to the city center. There are 2 24hr 7-eleven's within walking distance and a 24hr McD's. Plus, there are several local bakeries and noodle shops in the area. The hotel buffet was decent, but you will get a much better value outside. There is a shuttle-bus that takes you to the airport when you check out. I strongly recommend this hotel for the real Hong Kong experience.

This hotel is all-together okay. The rooms are simple and small yet clean and well kept. The staff is friendly; not all of them speak english but those who don't are quick to point out someone who does. The business center is tidy and very handy. The best thing about the hotel are the views. You'll have spactacular views of the harbor and Victoria's Peak if you're fortunate to stay in a room which faces these sites. However, the biggest drawback of the hotel is the location. It's located in a slum-like area which was a big shock to my senses having just arrived from the West. Outside, it smelled really bad - like something between seafood, ramen noodles and vomit. It's also a bit of a hike to the sites. I didn't stay long enough to figure out public transportation but the closest subway station was a decent walk away. If I had to do it all over, I would have stayed closer to central Hong Kong. Although the hotel was fine for my needs, it wasn't so great as to make up for its location.

We stayed here for two weeks and thought it was great. It was excellent value because it was a little out of the centre of town. However, with travel as cheap and convenient as it is in Hong Kong, this was no problem. Service was excellent at all times and staff couldn't do enough to help. The room was quite a good size compared with some I have stayed in before, particularly in London, and we had a corner room with two great views. As an extra bonus you get to stay in a more traditional area of the island and see a little of more old fashioned HK life. Some people have commented on the dried seafood shops there - and their smell. We didn't find that the shops smelt much (in spite of temperatures up to 34 degrees and over 90% humidity - phew!) and they were much more interesting than the plethora of department stores and chain stores in the centre. Our only criticism was that our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, even though we arrived mid afternoon from a long haul flight and were hot and exhausted. However, this did not mar the stay, and overall this was a great hotel serving good food and excellent value, particularly recommended if you are staying a little longer in HK.

The tramline goes right outside the hotel and across the whole of HK island very frequently, through Central, Wan Chai … for only HK$2 (13p). Get on at the back and go upstairs for a top view, then get off at the front when you want to and drop HK$2 in the box or scan your Octopus card (recommended). For cabs, pick up a hotel card from the shelf by the concierge to show taxi drivers when you want to get back to the hotel - most don't speak English. Taxis to Central cost around HK$25 (£1.75).
