We used the free shuttle bus from the airport and found the staff very competent. We also used the shuttle bus to go to the centre of town, so even though this hotel is not near a MTR station it was not a problem.

The hotel is in a good location. It is close to the ferry. The room had a great view.
They also have a free shuttle service is good. The rooms a bit small but it is okay for Hong Kong standarts.
I am happy to stay there next time. I would recommend it

Have stayed here many times, mostly for business.located close to the ferry port and convention center. Rooms are a bit small but efficient. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Free daily shuttle to most significant places in HK.

Hotel was recommended to me by my brother who had stayed before. Its located in a great area, very traditional views of Hong Kong life, and about a 15 min walk from the nearest MTR. Room was bright and roomy, great great views. Swimming pool was good, with a great view aswell.
My only critism was the lady on checking out wasnt overly friendly, and also i asked for a taxi to take me to the airport express and wasnt able to get one, so had to walk to the MTR with my large rucksack: (

I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Island Pacific Hotel, Hong Kong. We travelled in a group of 3 adults and had initially booked a Deluxe Harbour View Room with an extra rollaway bed. At check in, we were pleasantly surprised to have been upgraded to an Executive Deluxe Full Harbour View Room on the 27th floor of the hotel.

The room itself was large (by Hong Kong standards) with a spectacular view of the Kowloon side of Hong Kong including unobstructed views of the ICC and the numerous shipping traffic passing through the Victoria Harbour 24/7.

Although we were given a room upgrade, the fittings in the room were certainly showing their age. The bathroom itself had a separate shower and bath tub together with a generous array of amenities. Daily replenishment of mineral water was provided.

On our first entry into the room, we note that the extra bed was not yet installed. A quick call and the bed was promptly brought up and set up in the room. In the same manner, we noticed an old (blood) stain on the comforter of the main bed in the room. Another quick call to the housekeeping team and a new comforter was brought up and changed.

The service staff (from the check in staff to the housekeeping attendants to the concierge) were excellent and certainly made you feel welcome. The hotel shuttle service was a certainly a welcome bonus as it took you to the nearby mtr station and central ferry terminals at 30 mins intervals - on one occasion, we had come down to catch the 7pm shuttle to the star ferry terminal but were informed that the shuttle was not operating then. However, the concierge more than surprised us by taking their own initiative to flag down a cab and pay for it upfront so that the shuttle service was still honoured. This was certainly excellent service.

Location wise, the hotel is about a 15 mins walk to the Sheung Wan MTR station and about 20 minutes to Central. it's in a quiet residential neighbourhood with a whole slew of dried seafood stalls.

Overall, for the price and service, this was an above average hotel in Hong Kong. The views are probably unbeatable for the price we paid. The negatives would be the slight distance from the MTR and the slightly dated rooms and fittings.

Would recommend this hotel if you get a good rate!
