Overall, we had no complaints. The location is convenient although the neighbourhood seems run down. The airport bus 'city flyer' stops right at the front door. Check in was quick. Our rooms on eighth floor were spacious and clean, appearing to have been recently updated. Metro is close by and there are numerous eateries within walking distance. Our only peeve was the lack of free wifi. If you desire a comfortable plain room for a decent price, you can't go wrong with this one.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors may have been recently updated.

Generally the situation seems to be that the hotel market in Hong Kong is not very competitive. We found this hotel on one of the online booking sites and tried it out. The staff and service of the hotel we very good, but as an established and large hotel they should get some things right. As it is important for us to get a fresh blow of air we specifically inquired by phone if the hotel rooms have windows. The info was: "Yes, they do." And this is true, but unfortunately it is not possible to open the windows. So, imagine some of the rooms were set up 20 years ago and have not seen a blow of fresh air for this time. It also was not possible to switch off the air conditioning. The rooms are extremely cold and the constant low temperature results in fungus in the bathrooms which can be seen appearing from behind the mirror and lamps. Nevertheless, we had a good online deal, so we agreed to cope with the situation.

Room Tip: Check out the swimming pool.

We booked the Metropark Mongkok because of its location (close to ladies market) and supposedly 'value for money'. Bad decision, the hotel is quite a distance to the Mongkok night market and is a HOLE. beds are too hard, the room is dark, the curtains dirty, the facilities old, the fridge leaking, coffee cups have stains and hairdryer must have been bought for $2 at the markets. very depressing stay. we requested for a better room but hotel was charging us an extra HK$50 per night for similar room but in a higher floor. even the provision of additional mattresses did not improve sleep comfort. only positive thing I could say is the dimsum restaurant across the hotel which sells cheap freshly cooked noodles and dimsum. dont stay here.

Great location - it's just a few minutes' walk from the Prince Edward MTR. Opposite the hotel is a 24-hour chinese restaurant that sells great soup. noodle and rice dishes. The portions are generous and the food fresh, particularly the vegetables which are cooked to a crisp crunchiness. The beds and pillows of the hotel are very hard though. Ask for an extra blanket and put it beneath the bedsheet. Get an extra towel to put over your pillow or else you won't get comfortable. The staff are helpful and efficient. Despite the hard beds, I use this hotel all the time because of it's convenient location.

We did get an upgrade to the Business Floor as it was out 37th Anniversary - but we thought the hotel, overall was great value.

Staff were very friendly and extremely efficient.

Excellent hotel. good position for travel around Hong Kong.

I would class it as a very good 3 star+

Can't fault it, but we were on the 8th floor.

Room Tip: TRy for 8th floor (Business)

The location is good. The room is although small but still enough for 2 adult, 1 kid and 1 infant. Near to Prince Edward MTR. Within walking distance to Ladies Street,... Hotel room is clean and the staff there is helpful when need help. A lot of nice food available along the stretch of road along the Hotel.

Clean and tidy, good service, good location to train stations and shopping - especially markets, and had a pool which is a must if staying in the heat in Hong Kong! Get yourself an Octopus card and you are set. They also offer every half an hour a free bus that stops in three locations which is fantastic, and the airport express bus comes every 20 minutes so getting their is no problem.
