We booked a standard room through Agoda for $72 a night and were so grateful when a hotel employee inexplicably upgraded us to a harbor view suite on the 14th floor for free. We were flabbergasted by the view (which seems much higher than the 14th floor because the hotel is in the Mid-Levels on a hill overlooking Hong Kong Island) but maybe that's because we've never had a room with a view you could see from the bed! Although the space around the bed was a little tight, this was actually ideal because it put us closer to the big windows and made us feel like we were floating over the buildings. We slept with the blinds open each night so we could watch the twinkling buildings.

The room was immaculately clean with new towels, soaps and turn-down service each day. The living room had a small couch, flat screen TV, fridge and a desk overlooking the harbor.

The wifi Internet is free and works well in the rooms. The hotel location is great - above the Hong Kong Zoological Park and a block away from the Mid-Levels escalator.

Breakfast is not included, but they offer a daily buffet for about $10 USD.

We really and truly enjoyed our stay and didnt want to leave. Thank you, Bishop Lei!

Agree with most of the reviews below: location is definitely the best feature of this hotel. The rooms are indeed not spacious, but it didn't botter me a bit as you'll probably only there to sleep anyway. Close to mid level escalators, so easy to explore the area.

Was quite pleased with my room- a roomy suite with pull out sofa, mini bar, medium sized bathroom with shower and comfortable large bed. But the best attribute was the incredible view even from the 6th floor. The staff was friendly and helpful as well.

For those unfamiliar with British TV comedy in the 1970’s this was the catch phrase of the character Mandy, played by Dick Emery as a female impersonator. For me, somehow, it sums up Bishop Lei International House perfectly.
Ordinarily, the criticisms that one could make would result in a highly negative review. For instance, the rooms are “tired” and definitely need refurbishment. Even the Harbour View Suites are small resulting in such features as a shower from which it was necessary to exit at 45° because of its location between the wash basin and toilet. The end of a bed was so close to a window that there was barely sufficient room to squeeze by, a major challenge in the middle of the night, though somehow Matron managed! The beds are on the hard side and only one pillow is provided, resulting in a lengthy wait when we requested seconds and even then they came “in seriatim”.
But where else in the World can you lie in bed and watch it get light over the iconic I M Pei Bank of China Building, watch Black Kites soaring round the skyscrapers and listen to the Gibbons calling in the Zoological Gardens? In short, we’d be back.
More tangible plusses are the friendliness of the staff, easy access to Central via the Mid Levels Escalators, the Zoological and Botanical Gardens, Hong Kong Park and the Peak Tram (You do have to be fairly fit though).
Room rates are good by Hong Kong standards and it’s easy and economical to get to the Airport Express.
A counsel of abstinence, breakfast, while cheap, is probably best taken elsewhere.

Stayed here for a night on way through Hong Kong. Was very easy as they have a shuttle from the airport express in Central which made getting there easy.

Hotel was on mid levels in Hong Kong, a short walk to the escalators into Soho and Central shopping area.

Rooms were small, but this is Hong Kong. Food/bar options in hotel looked limited. Great view from room.
