“Reasonably priced for a very convenient location, popular eateries within walking distance and only less than 10 mins walk to Ch”
Reviewed February 26, 2013 via mobile

I stayed at BP international for 4 nights during Chinese new year period. The best part is it is resonably priced to be very conveniently located, BP international is next to a bus terminal for buses to the mainland. A few popular eateries I like (e.g. Desert Hui Lao Shan, Austrlian Diary Co, noodle Mak's wanton, local cafe Chui Yuen) are all within walking distance and it's only less than 10 mins walk to China HK ferry terminal!

This hotel has good transport links and is in the middle of Austin and Jordan MTR stations. A few minutes walk away from Kowloon Park where it is relaxing and peaceful. Would recommend walking around the park early in the morning where you can see people practising Tai Chi etc. Very close to restaurants and all manner of shops. Two of the lifts in the hotel were not working so it took quite some time to get down and up the building. The reception staff were helpful when we needed directions or had questions. We stayed in a room that had bunk beds, the room was quite small but clean and had everything that was needed. The room was very noisy in the evening, you could hear people taking showers, talking etc through the walls at all hours. It was a shame that wifi was not included in the price of the room.

We visited the Dim Sum restaurant in the basement, the food was not tasty at all. The service matched the quality of the food, thumbs down to that. But it was amazingly busy!

Well located hotel next to Kowloon park with it's beautiful bird life. Close to shops and restaurants too. Service was ok except when it got really busy in reception as it was very popular with tour groups and scout groups. Restaurant seemed popular if a little expensive (plenty of cheaper and nicer eating places in surrounding streets). 5-10 minute walk to Nathan road. Elevators were terrible though. They seemed to stop at floors where there was no one waiting so a ride from the 21st floor could take ten minutes to get down to the ground floor (including waiting time for the lift). Bedroom size was adequate. Clean and comfortable. Probably would stay here again if budget allows.

The IBPH is an interesting hotel. The hotel is owned by the Hong Kong Scout Association. The land is leased by the government to the Association which built and manages the property. If you are a Scout or have been one there is no other place to stay in HK than here. The building houses the Regional offices of the association plus contains several floors dedicated to training centres, a Scout Store, and Museum of Scouting. The hotel is consigned by the Association to the hotel concessionaire. Profits from management of the building go to running this amazing Scout Organization which is unlike any other in the world. In North America we bake cakes to support Scouting activities, not so in Hong Kong where along with the IBPH many successful business men who were young scouts or remain in scouting make considerable donations to the organization.

The hotel is centrally located in Kowloon. What makes the IBPH so attractive to many is ease of getting to and from the hotel from the airport. For 26HK dollars the A21 bus takes passengers to Nathan Road and intersection of Austin Road and the hotel is 1 block down from Nathan Road. The MTR is easy too, slightly faster, more expensive, and you have to transfer to a shuttle bus for a 10-minute drive to the hotel. The hotel backs up on Kowloon Park, one of Hong Kong's largest parks. Get up early, put on jogging shoes and run the maize of pathways through the park. So fun, you'll see chinese people doing exercises, walking, or just getting out. The vegetation is beautiful, birds a delight and the grounds spotless. In summer there's a large open-water pool available to the public. The hotel is walking distance away from Hong Kong Harbour ferries and seawalls that view across to Hong Kong. Ferries go to Macau, Zhuhai, and HK.

Rooms are on the small size, but this is China and Hong Kong. I've always had good service, but on occasion they messed up on my requirement for a non-smoking room. Prior to arrival I would recommend ensuring this requirement is met. Rooms have always been spotless. House cleaning staff have been friendly and always willing to satisfy. Prices vary with time of year, peak use days during the week, and holidays. The hotel is so popular with chinese travellers you must book early near or during any chinese holiday. Scouts should contact the HK Scout Association and have them assist booking. Scouts receive a discount if accompanied with a legitimate scout identification card.

Room Tip: Rooms on the backside of the hotel face Kowloon Park, those on the front face the city. I prefer a r...

This hotel has a very good location. Near MTR stations like Kowloon, Austin and walking distance Jordan. Near malls like Gateway mall, Parklane Shoppers etc. Just beside the hotel is Kowloon Park when you want to jog, stroll and enjoy the nature. The hotel just in front of convenient stores like Wellcome, 7-eleven. Easy transportation like cabs, bus. Walkable fast food chains like KFC, Mc Donald’s, and Starbucks etc.

We don't mind the size of the room anyway we just stayed there during night to sleep, what important is that almost everything is within your reach.

Room Tip: Choose the harbour's view. We stayed at room 2028. Very kid-friendly room.

Room & bathroom with shower are standard with city view.

location is good as its near to Jordan MTR, and its easy to travel ard.
good food also ard this area ..eg. 澳洲牛奶公司 Australian Dairy Company @ Jordon, 麥文記麵家 Mak Man Kee Noodles House @ Jordon, both of this just walking distance from the hotel.
Hong Kong Day cha chan ting just opposite the hotel, and Tsui Wah Restaurant 翠华餐厅.

you may take bus at the main road to HK Macao Ferry terminal and 尖沙咀天星码头 and its near ... just short journey. the shopping area just ard the ferry terminal within walking distance, H&M, HARBOUR CITY海港城. Sweet Dynasty, Hong Kong 糖朝is around the same area too. so after shop you can rest and have some nice HK dessert there.

Traveled with a party of 8 people, booked 4 rooms because rooms are very small.

The good:
- This is located within 3-5min walk to 2 train stations.
- A 5 min walk to Nathan road, where there's plenty of shopping and food choices
- Not the cheapest but affordable

The bad:
- Bath towel was disgusting (2nd day, the bath towel that was prep in the room had stains. Not small stains but like some baby pooped in it big time and mushed in it! I am NOT exaggerating!)
- Very small rooms. You can't fit an extra bed!
- Small bed size, true single bed.

So so:
-Lunch buffet not that good. For the price HK $ 118 (~ USD 15), it's ok.
